    Mk.

    ( Can't post direct links since this is my first post so just bare with me )
    To fix the "stuck at connected" issue.

    - Search the forums for: AC-WEB repack 7.8 2.4.3

    - Download the repack and the maps

    The repack download includes everything but the portable
    MySQL database so keep your existing DB.

    After extracting and replacing all of the files in your
    server folder ( C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack by default).

    There are now 3 folders.

    Go into Arcemu->configs

    Edit the following files:
    - arcemu-logonserver.conf
    - arcemu-world.conf

    IN arcemu-logonserver.conf EDIT
    Code:
    <LogonDatabase Hostname = "localhost"
                   Username = "root"
                   Password = "CHANGE_THIS"
                   Name     = "logon"
                   Port     = "3306"
                   Type     = "1">
    Code:
    <LogonServer RemotePassword = "CHANGE_THIS"
                 AllowedIPs = "127.0.0.0/24"
                 AllowedModIPs = "127.0.0.0/24">
    IN arcemu-world.conf EDIT
    Code:
    <WorldDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "CHANGE_THIS" Name = "ascent" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
    <CharacterDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "CHANGE_THIS" Name = "logon" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
    Code:
    <LogonServer DisablePings = "0"
                 RemotePassword = "CHANGE_THIS">

    Cut / Paste the maps into your Arcemu folder.
    Run: arcemu-logonserver.exe
    Then: arcemu-world.exe

    Make sure your realmlist.wtf is set to 127.0.0.1

    Go into wow, login as Admin password Admin

    And you're set.

    Thanks to Matser for the repack links, thanks to frigger908 for
    the maps, and thanks to everyone else in this thread for your
    support.

    This happened to me too but it only happened after I tried to copy the new
    repack files and overwrote the old ones. Delete the folder all-together and
    start over as a fresh install but keep your DB. Since there are DLLs involved
    it's important that you always do a clean install unless the updates only
    require a MySQL update.

    If this doesn't work then be sure to repost, there's more you can do but it's
    a pain.

    Thank you,

    - There's an update for the 'Arcemu'

    Here's everything you need to know:

    Updates for: { Arcemu_r671, sun++, whyDB_r204 }
    To: { Arcemu_r794, sun++_r180, NCDB_r3 }

    If you're using an earlier version of any of the titles above then
    you'll need to download both the AC-Web repack and the Arcemu
    core update.

    AC-Web Re-Repack:
    Download AC_Web_Ultimate_Repack.rar

    ArcEmu Core update:
    Download Arcemu_rev836.rar

    If you've yet to download/extract the new maps
    for WoW v2.4.3 then download the following:

    AC-Web Re-repack/ArcEmu map-pack from WoW v2.4.3
    MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

    Unlike the initial jump from AC-Web Repack v7.7 to v7.8,
    you only have to overwrite all of the files in the download
    for both the repack download and the core update.
    Just be sure to run all MySQL updates which are located in
    the 'sql_update' folder.

    NOTE: Your configuration files will be overwritten if you fail to
    either move them or rename them. Be sure to save yourself the
    hassle and tend to those before installing the updates.

    Known Updates that effected you directly from the previous core build:
    - Fixed issues with entering instances in the outlands
    - Fixed issues with all raid instances ( required raid group, but works )
    - Added 'instance' sub-command-menu to .commands
    - Miscellaneous spell fixes ( random interruption, lack of, malfunctioning after casting, server crashes, etc... )
    - Error during zone-in sequence, rebuilt and zonein script optimized
    - To enter any instance as GM: .cheat triggerpass

    That's all I could really find from the update -- I'm sure there's more.

    That's everything I did step by step. If you're looking for the new
    GM-Command list that's most up to date (as of 8/22/08 ) then go to:

    GM-Command list as of 8/22/08
    http://upload.virtual-angel.de/command-list.xml

    Credit goes to:
    [ Faddix - Put most of this how-to together and the latest core build ]
    [ Arcemu - For the Arcemu core ]
    [ Jargs - For putting together the AC-Web Re-Repack ]

    All of this information can be found in a sorta-hard-to-read format
    on the offical AC-Web website:

    [Release] AC Web Ultimate Repack 7.8 - Updated for 2.4.3 - WarpNPC - AC Web

    No, this does not include the DB. If you're looking for the DB then you'll need
    the initial repack which you can get here:
    AC Web Ultimate Repack.exe

    That includes everything from the initial AC-Web Repack v7.8

    You will want to start from the first post I made about the update,
    and then move onto my second post about the updates.
    Once you've completed all of these steps you'll be running the latest
    version of AC-Web Repack and ArcEmu as of 8/22/08

    If you have any questions about anything feel free to ask.

    Additional Note: I would recommend using MySQL 5.1 instead of the
    AC-Web MySQL batch application that comes standard with the
    Repack installation. However, I also recommend becoming more
    acquainted with how the server works before doing so. By using your
    own MySQL server you enable yourself to update or modify/move server
    files/folders without putting your DB in danger.

    Things to ask yourself or answer if need be:
    - What version of ArcEmu are you running?
    - Did you apply all of the MySQL patches?
    - Does your console log ( arcemu-world.exe window or arcemu-logonserver.exe windows ) say anything about your connection?
    If so, what does it say? ( error wise )

    This is definitely a version issue but what you can do is go into your
    'Arcemu\script_bin' folder and then open up your DLL cache folder.

    For Windows XP is located at: 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache'

    Find the names of the DLLs in your '
    Arcemu\script_bin' folder
    and delete them from your DLL cache folder.

    Simply deleting your prefetch folder and restarting your PC will also
    do the same thing as deleting the DLLs from the cache folder.

    Also. Make sure that you have 2 databases. One called ascent, and one
    called logon. These are the default names for the installation and will
    reduce any confusion that may occur. If you're using the standard MySQL
    batch appliation that's provided with the AC-Web repack then moving
    to the standard MySQL 5.1 database might be your best bet.

    Here is a quick rundown of how your realms should be setup:

    IN arcemu-logonserver.conf
    ------------
    Code:
    <LogonDatabase Hostname = "localhost"
                   Username = "root"
                   Password = "DB_PASSWORD"
                   Name     = "logon"
                   Port     = "3306"
                   Type     = "1">
    ------------
    Code:
    <Listen Host = "0.0.0.0"
            ISHost = "0.0.0.0"
            RealmListPort = "3724"
            ServerPort = "8093">
    ------------
    Code:
    <Client MinBuild = "8606"
            MaxBuild = "8606">
    ------------
    Code:
    <LogonServer RemotePassword = "DB_PASSWORD"
                 AllowedIPs = "127.0.0.0/24"
                 AllowedModIPs = "127.0.0.0/24">

    IN arcemu-realms.conf
    ------------
    Code:
    <LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1"
                 Port = "8093"
                 Name = "Default Logon"
                 RealmCount = "1">
    ------------
    Code:
    <Realm1 Name = "Realm name here"
            Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
            Icon = "PVP"
            Population = "1.0"
            TimeZone = "1">

    IN arcemu-world.conf
    ------------
    Code:
    <WorldDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "DB_PASSWORD" Name = "ascent" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
    <CharacterDatabase Hostname = "localhost" Username = "root" Password = "DB_PASSWORD" Name = "logon" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
    ------------
    Code:
    <Listen Host = "0.0.0.0"
            WorldServerPort = "8129">
    Make sure that you have also deleted the #die-directives that are
    located near the middle and near the end of the arcemu-world.conf
    file.
    Where you see 'DB_PASSWORD' in the scripts is for the database
    password ( default is ascent ). Be sure that you're pointing to the
    correct database in the last snippet, aswell.

    Just a few things to look at and to try.

    For testing purposes I removed a few key tables from an old DB that worked
    after I installed all of the updates and I managed to find the issue -- it was
    from the Character record. After running the server and of course it loaded
    the accounts but when I tried to login it was stuck on 'connected'.

    One thing I've always hated about DB updates is you never really know if
    they are going to work correctly so I've learned the hard way to always
    be careful when updating.

    I am currently working on a DB update converter so any issues with
    updates in the future ( at least for me and whoever wants it at the time )
    can be undone or re-evaluated instead of guessing which is too
    counter-productive to be reliable.

    One last thing, be sure that you run all updates on both the Ascent
    and Logon databases. They aren't sorted so it's rather a guessing
    game unless you know exactly what is in both databases.
    I still do believe it's a version issue -- so be sure to install the updates
    as instructed as I continue to investigate.
