I followed your guide, but when I go to start everything up from the Control Panel I get this error:

MySQL is starting with mysql/bin/my.cnf <console>
Can't start server: bind on TCP/IP port: invalid arguement

Everything works great EXCEPT when I try and log on the server, the server shows up, but when I try to log on, it's stuck at "Logging into server" or "Connected" I can never get to the character creation screen...

You may have to fiddle around with the configs, or your ports may not be forwarded correctly.

Well i tried following the directions and all i came back with was the realmlist loop. I followed the instructions on fixing that problem and the logonserver loads and instantly shuts down. any suggestions?

Well you can take out the realmloop, it's not required. Also, you need to make sure that your logonserver info and world info is the same, or else they'll both instantly crash.

If you launch MySQL.bat from the repack first, then you can start Navicat normally. Make sure you connect to 'localhost' and username should be 'ascent' and password should be 'password'

Yes it does. Arcemu can be hosted publicly, I've done it myself. And also, I made a guide for it.

mysql_installservice don't work what i gonna do??

You don't need MySQL_installservice.bat to run. Just launch MySQL.bat, it should work...

when i do this tut the world server says it can not connect to the log in server.
but this goes away when i change the realms conf. file to this:

<LogonServer Address = "external ip"
Port = "8093"
Name = "Default Logon"
RealmCount = "1">

but after i make this change when i log on i stay at connected forever.

Your ports need to be forwarded correctly. All of em, every port you see in all 3 configs is what needs to be forwarded, along with the port for DynDNS.

and another question that i forgot to mention was that how do your friends get acc. on your private server?

You can either use the account creation page which is difficult to use. You can edit that through the guide I made. Or... you can just add an entry in your database. It should be World > Accounts.

You'll need to fix up your .conf files. You may have an IP that should be '127.0.0.1' and it's something else. Look around and use trial-and-error.

Type '192.168.1.1' in your browser. A box should pop up where you can put your username and password. Depending on your router depends on the information. Usually it's:

User: admin
Pass: password

OR
User: (blank)
Pass: admin

Try those and you should see somewhere in firewall settings or advanced settings about port forwarding.

Ok go into your programs folder under control panel and remove ANY program with 'mysql server' in it. There's another server running on your computer under different configs. Also, you could just do CTRL+ALT+DEL to look at any running applications of a MySQL server. End the program and start up MySQL.bat and it SHOULD work...

I am able to log in, I cannot get it so my freinds can join, I have been working with this all day and im getting frustrated, finally posting... hoping for help

When freinds try to join, they see the server, but they cannot get past connected. I have the same problem, yet I hit enter a few times and it eventually logs me into my char screen. now my freinds can hit enter all day and it wont connect them(sits at connected after realm choosing screan)

What should i post? I am using a router linksys, i have forwarded all ports, i even tried to go direct to modem and still no luck.

Aight hopefully this is meh last post on this topic but...when i open up the repack and it starts to boot up the server it gets stuck on connecting to host worldofwarcrack.game-host.org...
