heres my problem, i do everything you say but when i start the realm and go into the second one it has the exact same character/mall/npc's in it that the original one does. any ideas?

Mine wont connect to the Database either, and i just put a 2 behind it

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Also... make a backup before you do this, i got it to work... but it uses the new database :S so no accounts, if you watn accounts go > Database > Data > Characters and copy them < This dosent work correctly it seem, when you create a char on 1 of the servers it also creates it on the other server aswell
