Hmmm Not running a firewall program ( Apart from windows firewall) Modem has one but it should be set on allow all as these DI-524's are limited in what you can select and for how many comps... edited the files and still no good, actually once i changed the 127.0.0.1 devilz.thruhere.net it wouldnt even let me log in anymore, and i looked into bridge modeing my wireless router , but it would seem you cant do that, so idk /shrug so close to the answer, ijdk!!
thnx anyways

Sorry my little brother dropped a brick on his foot mate I had to go. But hm what system are you running windows most likely u edited your host docs and etc then only were your realm list change is you should put your external IP.
np mate, have to lol tho, hope he didnt hurt ya to bad ^^.
Anyways im running windows XP sp2, and yea edited the host file it reflects my gateway, local and external ip, as well as my dyndns.
host :
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 devilz.thruhere.net
192.168.0.1 devilz.thruhere.net
121.222.143.74 devilz.thruhere.net
When i removed the bold line at ur request i could no longer connect to the server so added it back as it appears it needs to be there!
i tried removing my DI-524 ( ive updated firmware and such ) and was just running from my modem ( speedtouch 510 ) and still wasnt able to go public...
i had a pic ready to post up here of the files i use to run the server, but i cant upload it cos of errors so here goes ill type em out ..
1) start background { ms-dos batch file }
2) ascent - loginserver
3) ascent - World
and thats it its normally all good to connect too
Note ** i have 2 different versions 1 working 1 not ( working is Apple's ascent 2.4.2 ) non working is a AC Web Ultimate Repack 7.6 for 2.4.2 and the one difference is the AC web has a "ascent - realmserver" file to run that apple's doesnt, also ac web has myslq where as apples has the background batch file which seems to do the same job as Myslq, i did go to download myslq and set it up to try running that instead of background but i got sidetracked by something else...
anyways as i said ive tried just about everything, still scratching my head,
hope this eventually helps someone :P:P
thnx again
**EDIT** as for the external IP in the realmslist.wtf, i have tried that instead of devilz.thruhere.net, and its still a no go for public or local connection

your missing changing the server adress at the top
I dont think you have to because ive used it. with just that part that i put and well it works fine O_-.
When I do ipconfig in command prompt it shows the same IP as when I go to the website...My external IP is 207.177.66.22
EDIT: also for step 14 i get the "The server at 192.168.1.3 is taking too long to respond." message

good on ya man nice guid![]()
when i try to do to Step Fourteen: Now go back to your internet browser of your choosing and go to teh entry bar and do as shown. It will also pull up a screen asking for a user name and password most routers you will type for hte user/ pass is User: Admin Password: Password.
but when i put in admin admin it came up 401 Unauthorized
Authorization required help!
Then it's not the password to the router, if you got a dad for example (like I do) he may have changed the router password. (like mine have). Go and ask himOr the one that owns your internet
Well it looks like you guys know just about as much as i do!
it seems that im not going to get this problem sorted out anytime soon, as i have done everything i can, you guys have looked at it and said nothing, so ill assume its in the hardware somewhere,
thnx for the help:wave:
nice guide
