must say thanks for a great post, everything went well for me untill it was time to Release the scripts2008 file, i got 5 errors and dont know how to solve them,
i get the error message "LINK : warning LNK4224: /OPT:NOWIN98 is no longer supported; ignored" can anyone help me with this problem?

I have been playing WOTLK via mangos, navicat, mysql . All was fine until this last Alpha client patch.

I have used Ascent in the past when i wanted to try Burning crusade content.

It all was simple for me, because I wasnt interested in joining other servers, or having people join mine.

I just want to play and test on my own.

SO my question is, what would be the best route to go now ? My mangos isnt working atm, because of the new patch, and I still am trying to get all that figured out.

Instead I want to start over all fresh, and it doesnt matter to me what program i use to run WOTLK.

Play by myself, and be able to play the current WOTLK build ( 8471 ) is the one i have now.

Ascent is a good build, more stable than MaNGOS. I recommend you at least try this, though more difficult than the Sandbox, this has creatures and such. You can actually play not just view the WoW. So pretty much, go to Ascent if your looking for custimization. Go to MaNGOS if your looking for simplicity.

Ya i agree I do like ascent. If i remember correctly, last time I used it, all I basically had todo was just download a repack ( think it was 7.7 on acweb )
Just extracted the maps , put it in ascent folder, changed Realmlist, started Ascent launcher up and logged in.
Now that was back when I wasnt into Black temple yet with my guild, and i just wanted to snoop around inside with out dying
So that Repack was easy and simple..

Now several months later, Im growing tired of playing a rogue ( been playing one since phase 2 closed beta of ) so it gets boring.

So i looked into doing an emulator again, and found a nice guide for mangos that was on some other website, and it was pretty simple to set up. I could play the Death knight, and there was stuff in the oder zones, and some also in the camp area of Northrend.
Patch came out, and every thing Broke So now im looking for something new to start from scratch.

Like I said im just wanting to play by myself, and wanting to find a up to date emulator.

If this one you posted can do it, ill give it a whirl.

I was following your guide, and it seemed to go fine, up until where i had to change the "Debug" thing to "Release". When they finished, it said there was like 2 errors, 0 succeeded, 0 skipped, etc. Along with that, when both were done, there is no Bin folder.

Any help id appriciate it.

Can we install over our TBC?

I made a server but I can't play with BE and Draenai cause I dont have the TBC installed on that folder and I can't install my WotLK in that folder, some kind of error pops up
