Can't download the Library files. Won't let me.
"The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his Rifle!"
I'm having some difficulty using Microsoft Visual C++ 2008.
It's skipping constantly, maybe it's because I'm not familiar with the program but I put everything where it is supposed to be. No problems whatsoever. Double-Click VC90solution in the windows libraries and get ready to compile for x64 / release and it says....
Any suggestions? If needed, MSN is Crimsonslayor at hotmail.com.Code:1>------ Skipped Build: Project: pcre ------ 1> 2>------ Skipped Build: Project: zlib ------ 2> ========== Build: 0 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 2 skipped ==========
Edit: I have tried restarting.... Uninstalling and cleaning registry and deleting ALL settings for the program.... Even changing comps... Trying to redownload it to see if that's a possible solution now.
To help you out, your link to the libraries is broken. Here's one from AscentEmu.com Filebeam - Free Fast File Hosting so people like Spearman* can't get along and finish before me.( And so I'm not a worthless leecher. :P)

So, where do I download the library files?
EDIT: Alright where in the 'Ascent' folder do I place those?
EDIT 2: Alright, I placed the README for the Library files. Do I re-compile Ascent?

"The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his Rifle!"
sweet guide, even though i have so many damn issues with ascent...
No spearman, you need to follow the instructions ON the readme, not move it.
And jaxon explain plox?
Woops, typo, I meant to say I read the README, and I did what it says. Oh and on top of that, I don't have the .exe's. I only have ascent-voicechat.exe
"The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his Rifle!"
Did you compile all the projects?
Yes. I followed your guide very thoroughly.
"The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his Rifle!"
You would have the .exes if you did. It's actually the point where I am stuck because the program keeps skipping my project... What happened in Microsoft Visual studio when you compiled them?
SectorSeven, any ideas on how to solve my problem? Or directions to point me in?

Seriously. I have work and school and real life commitments.
Whats your problem?
As do I, so I understand your reasoning. No worries.
I posted it earlier and I'll try to be more descriptive but...
I'm having some real trouble with Visual Express 2008 C++ skipping my project when I either hit... Rebuild solution, build solution, and even clean solution.
I followed your guide fairly well and it seemed to attempt to compile ONCE and then just started skipping. (It failed that one time because I skipped your library step.)
Here's what the log at the bottom says for the Libraries now.
I have tried re-downloading everything, deleting all known settings seeing as it tried to compile ONCE and I was hoping that I could get that one compile back. (I cleaned the registry to the best of my knowledge and deleted all files related to VSE on my HD and re-installing afterwards.)Code:1>------ Skipped Build: Project: pcre ------ 1> 2>------ Skipped Build: Project: zlib ------ 2> ========== Build: 0 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 2 skipped ==========
All to no avail....
Is there something completely obvious to the program that I am missing? I have never used it before so I'm hoping this is the case. Like a setting that skips projects for some odd reason? :P
Edit: I have come to figure out that I am only having trouble compiling for x64-bit... It lets me build perfectly fine with 32-bit but not 64-bit.... Sigh...
