I am downloading the alpha again but yes. It is the correct one. As for being fully patched, is there a way to tell? The window says patching complete. Then it says writing..and then it closes itself. I assume that means it patched.

Also want to note that when I first download the alpha there is no WTF folder so I have to first try to connect just to create the WTF folder and the config file. Then I hit reject for the agreement. GO back in and modify the config and THEN I log in. I can do all that but then I get hung up on the loading screen every time. Really hope I can figure this out.![]()
Ok I am upping my offer here. I am so frustrated that I will give a PAX Beta key to anyone that can successfully help me figure out what the heck i'm doing wrong so that I can get in. I have 8 left so I am willing to part with one.
Cheers
What's your problem? Why you can't use the Alpha? It's running ok for me![]()
What I did to make it work was right click the connection patcher, go to compatibility tab, check the Run as Admin box near the bottom, click ok, drag the WoWB.exe onto it, hit enter, wait, edit the WTF file, open the sandbox and wow and log in with the info it asks. I didn't have any other issues.
Also be sure to edit the WoWB-64.exe to WoWB-64_.exe.

Have you used all programs as admin? Turn off all blizzard process from your pc first. Ctrl+Shift+EOsc than process look for everything that remember blizzard.
Open you wowB_patched and see your version on the left corner. Need to be 6.0.1 (18179). Here im using 64 bits.
Other thing, here when i first download de Alpha a have open the game and tryed to loging on my oficial account and etc to create all folders. Click on the red realm and etc.

The other thing is. I dont have a WTF folder in the download of the beta client by default when it first downloads. I have to try and connect first THEN it generates the WTF folder. Anyone else have that?
Yes you need to generate this files. Use the default config of your wow, open wowb.exe. It will show ptr realms for your, click in one of them, them close and see if WTF have been created.
holy... stop spamming this thread!
If it stucks on loading screen or client freezes/crashes directly after login with a clean sandbox & clean alpha client (I support only enUS atm since other languages can have some interface bugs etc.) it's in 99% of the cases no sandbox problem.
The error on client exit is ok. The client has many debug checks.
For the WTF folder + config file just start/exit the client one time...

I am only using English US. Everything else you said I have tried. It keeps freezing at the same place on the loading screen and I check the sandbox window and the line of code it stops on is "Debug: Loading screen for map 1158 is enabled." Oh well thanks anyway I guess. Sorry for the posts. I'll just wait for the beta. Cheers!
A fresh install fixed the instant disconnect issue. Another problem to chalk up to Blizzard's godawful NGDP/CASC implementation in the current Battle.net app I guess.
BTW, you don't need the program to have finished installing or to disconnect your net. I'm in-game on the sandbox server and my entire WoW directory is 3.81 GB atm. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/qk8e34L.png
Make sure you pause the download in the Battle.net app and manually End Task on Battle.net Update Agent before you launch the game though. If you don't, you'll get error messages about CASCHandler and/or 'cheat' files and other such nonsense. The Battle.net app and Agent don't communicate with each other regularly when it comes to NGDP/CASC games, so it doesn't respect your 'pause' request.
Edit: It is worth noting that when I was having the instant disconnect issue, I didn't have all the "Blizzard_StoreUI", "Blizzard_GarrisonUI" lines in the debug output on the server. It just went immediately from:
[3:01:45 AM] Debug: Encryption for account '1' enabled
TO
[3:02:23 AM] Debug: Loading screen for map '1158' is enabled.
[3:05:59 AM] Debug: Character with Guid: 1, AccountId: 1 tried to enter the world.
[3:06:00 AM] Debug: Loading screen for map '1158' is disabled.

Dear Mr. King!
You have done an amazing work, your sandbox work perfect! Accept my sincere gratitude!
Anyone have the list of new Map IDs?
