Hey. I had the same problem for several days until i managed to fix it. So i will tell you what mistakes i did maybe you will find your answer in what i did.
First of all be sure you installed the Wod beta and you didnt patched the mop client(i did that and it didint work)))
Second , after i installed wod beta there where 4 more .exe there, but i deleted them , and i had the same problem as you, so...i restored them and opened wowB_patched.exe, and it worked, also the loading screen changed(first it was to a red dark portal and after that the vanilla one).
Idk if this will help you, but bassically restore those .exe's if you deleted them. Aso ALWAYS use wowB_patched.exe (or wow_patched.exe idk how you have it)That's the way i fixed it..

I'm afraid that that's not one of the things that King (Fabian) plans on doing at the moment, Later on, In the future, Maybe once the full game is out he might do

He built it off Arctium, which I believe is only setup for 64 bit.

For the past 3 or so hours I have been playing and messing with this patcher to try and get it to work. I've read pretty much every post and tried everything I could find. Still, the patcher crashed when trying to modify the hosts file. If anyone has any ideas whatsoever that haven't already previously been posted, that would be great.

I am redownloading the alpha now just to make sure it wasn't on that end. Will update if it works

Edit: It turned out my host file itself was all screwed up and was set up as a txt file instead of just a file. So I copied one of the other files in the folder and just edited the contents with the host text file and saved it as the new file named "hosts" and patched perfectly.

So you're saying it crashes when it tries to modify your hosts file? Is your hosts file still on read-only? and do you have NET. Framework 4.5 Installed?

Drag 'n Drop your WowB.exe over the Connection Patcher.exe & press Enter
