Me and my friend create a mangos server, He can login to server and to the realms too but I cant. Im logging in whit my account and it says: "connecting" but after 30 seconds says that unable to connect. What can be problem?

You walked in configuration?
mangosd.config and realmd.conf
You run in the directory Server MySQL.bat?

First of all, mad props to Quanta. Thank you so much. This server is incredible, and even a total noob like me was able to get it running on the internet with no problems. It has a few bugs here and there, but hopefully the SVN updates will fix those.

Updating is why I'm here. I THINK I have a handle on how to update the server. I tested the procedure on another computer to be safe, but I am scared to death about the possibility of losing all the characters and accounts.

Is there a way to backup the characters and accounts? And if there IS a problem, how would I go about putting them back in?

I think you can do an SQL Dump, i believe it is called, of the database with your account information in it.

If you update from Ver.6.20 to Ver.6.21
keeps the characters and realmd
and everything is ok
db realmd and characters remain unchanged

if you do a backup before the characters and realmd
put backup after update to db characters and realmd

Why does this happen? And is there any alternative solution to create a character? Because in database there is only the Encrypted Password... Plz someone help! Thank you!

I have the same problem with Apache, but yes, there is another way to create an account. just type Account Create [Name] [Password] in the running mangosd.exe window.

I have another problem too. Every time i try to log in the mangosd.exe is freezing.
if it freezes i can type something in the mangosd window, doesnt matter what, and it just shows the text i've written when i press enter. normally Mangosd writes, that there isn't such a command, or if it is a right command it says that command is finished.
But if it freezes it does nothing of that.
Also if i try to login, and its freezed, i cant get over the realmlist.
it normally freezes about 30sec after it finished loading. doesn't matter if i type a command in, try to log in or do nothing.

Does anyone know what to do? +Rep if someone

Thanks man, teleport script you posted works great. Good job on the updates. Ive experienced a few flaws so far, but none that would make it unplayable. NPC's and Creatures fall into the ground still(maybe an issue with ManGOS) sometimes they jump and bounce around and end up high up, i think the server readjusts but im not sure(dont want important quest givers and NPC's dissapearing on us) Ice Crown seems to work now, but havent fully tested, it seems some quest givers dont update when you do the task, or maybe im doing it wrong, i'll have to look at the wiki to find the exact quests, but they are in the ice cidatal i believe

The games logics dont support over level 80, we were able to do it with Arcemu but after 80 the stats glitch out, and to me, it seemed to crash the client constantly until we changed it back to default values

That's wrong! U can level up over 80 in mangos by adding "a few of" informations into db. 3 tables u have to modify are player_classlevelstats, player_levelstats and player_xp_for_level. I think u will not want to do that after opening those tables

About quest death comes from on high, mangos core hasnt supported spells using by the quest yet. So u have to wait or just ignore the quest by setting column 'method' in quest_template to 0 to auto complete the quest.

if you run Skype
stop Skype and start apache
then start skype
must function

Thanks for adding a quick fix to complete the death comes from above quest. Now that they know whats going on, hopefully a new core update is in store for us.
