I have tried out only 3 Repacks and each one of them was pretty good but one thing I found in common with them all that surprises me is the TOOLS included and the only reason I am making this post isn't to say they were fail but not made for everyone. Sure, vmaps is simple, for us maybe, but not for all. If we're gonna release a Repack for those who cannot compile their own why not include the VMAPS, DBC, MAPS etc in the repack? Or at least include a detailed for "anyone" instructions text file. I will not mention those repacks I have tested because I have already directly contacted the folks who released them on my thoughts. They are very nice folks and I love helping people. I have never taken credit for any of my work I do it now for the soul purpose of fun and I can. After college and years of web developing I broadened my knowledge and I am very thankful I have never turned my back on my programs. As long as I have sat here writing this reply novel I have decided to design a Repack/CMS for all the WOW fans out there. LOL Sorry for the dis but It will work with Vista. If the Operating system does not have the capabilities to have the needed files installed to operate a Server then I will include them in the repack itself. I will contact the necessary folks now and see what I need if anything to maybe add a fix for their system to handle the Repack,,grr i d not like repacks. nothing against the developers at all just do not care for them. I do suggest anyone who uses them to change all the passwords ASAP. The basic one I have seen used I was shocked to see them in use my loads of ppl lol. Root? Ascent? get rid of them. I change my user name 'ROOT'(default) every 7 days without question to my Trinity Core Server and every 3 days I change the password 'ASCENT'(default) to a more secure one. Very easy and if your going to have folks join via email require a key way, nobody wants their emails on a non secure server.

    What is PryDevCore a repack a project? No it is inspiration.

    Your best bet is to follow our guide on the first page of this post and use our precompiled cores / databases as that is by far the easiest route.

    Don't ponder too much on the attitude of others for that's one reason PryDev exists in the first place. The team gives support, often information repeated over n over. It is no surpise when comments such as what you encountered with Vista. From my past experience, I also agree that using Vista as the OS of choice is a mistake. Sure Vista works just fine but there are times when the OS itself has incompatibilites and problems arise. Though that chance to have erroneous issues is rare I have had it happen to me and found more success with other OSs.

    As far as why we do not supply dbcs, maps, etc. Well we are a project that formed from a repack. Back in the heyday our repack was easier to use. Partially because the dependencies / pre requisites were not so bad. Nevertheless, PryDev has always been about giving the user the flexibility to choose. Being able to fully control your wow server and understanding what is going on. Unlike a full package repack that can be installed and ran as a standalone server, with PryDev you will have to learn Or just have someone else with knowledge to setup that first core. As with everything in life time is of the essence and we don't always have time to make standalone repacks, though Lorac has made a few in the past which were a great success.

    On the other hand - Compared to a standalone repack PryDev Team offers:


    We've been around for a few years and don't have plans on taking a vacation. Often one hardly finds that kind of support from a standalone repack, if there is support at all besides an install txt file.

    That being said, no server administrator in his or her right mind would install a standalone repack which could negatively affect the server environment in countless ways. In fact PryDev offers server administrators the peace of mind with security and re-assurance that what we provide is what we say. Don't trust us? We don't blame you. Download the source and make sure it's all legit or check our guide on how to manually make a webserver by our Team.

    Standalone repacks are great for beginners and first timers but as most of us know, when you want more out of your emulation experience, a repack just will not do. PryDev offers you guidance on how to get away from a repack and start doing things for yourself, for your benefit. With the right tools and knowledge in your hands, anything becomes possible, re-coding, rescripting, fixing bugs, etc.

    Um I know you are not speaking about Ultracore
    #1 reason main password Ascent? no never has been never will be
    #2 reason Core was mainly built on vists
    #3 reason it was built on vista using vs
    now you lost me with all the jumping around
    i have no idea what the gripe was
    But please if you dont believe in repacks dont slam them in a thread for repacks
    Now if this core was to hard to set up you shouldnt even be in private servers
    its basic on so many levels

    And from what i hear you have someones ( repack) mysql server
    grab the right tools for the job dont cut corners
    nothing comes easy

    Again this is not troll but it is a gentle correction in a flawed thought

    If your trying to use the old code with the new cores i have one question

    Why?

    Dont you think if we could it would be in core?
    Well it can be but it has taken bottom priority

    considering the core already has an all in one
