a question Pryd: i was trying to add my own custom items.
So i followed a guide to get rid of the "?" icon and other stuff.
Where i need to edit the DBC: item, to put my own custom items on that list.
then save and convert the DBC: item again, and place it inside my DBC folder.

I have seen you have done it 2 with your custom items.
So i have this weird problem, when i add my custom item, right in the moment i see the item is about to enter my bag,
its shows the correct Display, but as i open the bag, the item is again a "?" icon, and i can not put my item on the action bar.

So i wonder, must i edit more DBC files to get the custom items to work?
I tryed with a custom patch to, but that didn't solve the problem either.

itstype 1 and 16 is ffa_pvp then even ally and horde can atk horde vs horde and ally vs ally with out duels

hmm i tested the 2 side horde and ally on 1 account with a fresh instal of this repack and even then it doesnt work you ccan how ever create on 1 account both sides :/

The relevant lines in the TDB_rev29_FUN.sql file are #1143153-1143335.

Second, I grabbed the source code and tried compiling it with Visual C++ 2010 just for kicks. You may want to give it a serious look, because I have noticed a serious speedup in loading times for TrinityCore.

Here's my benchmarks for a comparison of the 8074 release (x64) versus the source in the Lorac13 compiled with VC++ 2010 (x64):

Rev 8074 x64 Bin Distro: 4m 58s , 4m 49s, 4m 54s
Rev 8074 x64 Lorac13 Compiled w/ Visual C++ 2010: 1m 1s, 0m 59s, 1m 00s

Can you confirm this? It seems too good to be true, but the VC++ 2010 core loads and runs just fine. Also, the CPU load on MySQL is much higher for the VC++ 2010 core as opposed to the regular version, and it reports loading the correct number of items for each table. The version I compiled will push the mysql process up the max CPU usage when working on the big tables, while the regular never does so.

I have been playing with this version for a while, and it seems to be just as stable. I haven't changed any of the compiler options - I just updated the project to VC10.

them going. I change the playercreateinfo and some spells. It should be noted that giving a level 80 player a spell that is rewarded from a quest chain can mess up the quest chain if that toon were to go back and try to do it.

Therefore, to turn a YTDB into a bliz server, and start players at level 1, you must replace the playercreateinfo_spells w/ that from a Blizz database. The location doesn't matter necessarily, but with DKs especially, if they have their Death Gate teleport spell, the core will think they've completed one of their final quests.. Basically, DKs are not supposed to go back and do those quests, they have the talents needed to go forward on the pvp database.

As for the difference between TDB and YTDB, each database has it's glorious moments. I would suggest checking both out as there are treasures in each.. I'm doing my best to share good info between the two but that is a slow and painful process on my end. The latest content is from YTDB and thank goodness for them, because ToCr event would never have worked.. TY YTDB!! Along w/ many other things, loots, ICC mobs, etc..

A couple of observations on my part. Never had any worthwhile things to contribute until now, but I must start by saying I do appreciate all the hard work on your part.

First off, in the fun DB (for the 8070 & 8074 releases), paladins start with almost all of their spells by default at level 1. They are the only class that has this. I dug through the playercreateinfo_spell table, and can fix it with:

My Fun Server currently is meant for players to start at lvl 60. This is simply my version of a fun starting point as I run a bliz server which starts players at 1. To fix the fun server so that it is more like bliz, replace the playercreateinfo_spell with the one from a Blizz database.

a question Pryd: i was trying to add my own custom items.
So i followed a guide to get rid of the "?" icon and other stuff.
Where i need to edit the DBC: item, to put my own custom items on that list.
then save and convert the DBC: item again, and place it inside my DBC folder.

I have seen you have done it 2 with your custom items.
So i have this weird problem, when i add my custom item, right in the moment i see the item is about to enter my bag,
its shows the correct Display, but as i open the bag, the item is again a "?" icon, and i can not put my item on the action bar.

So i wonder, must i edit more DBC files to get the custom items to work?
I tryed with a custom patch to, but that didn't solve the problem either.

After bliz implemented the check for custom items, they no longer worked as real weapons, meaning, your abilities like sinister strike wouldn't work even though a weapon is equipped.

To fix this, and not mess with dbc files, I simply used real (un-used) entries within the offy dbc, then created each weapon as it really is by using core errors to feed the database. So that's why my custom weapons work.

There may be ways around this, possibly creating extra entries within the dbc file?
But I've never tried and I do wish you luck as I'd love to be able to use hidden display IDs once again.

On a side note:
1) not sure how to fix dual talents / reset at this moment will look into it when I have time.

2) Player Bots seem to mess up a real players spells, so for now I would use it on players you don't care about
or create players that are just bots.. I noticed my warrior lost some spells after being summoned as a bot.

Oh and if this happened to a character you just can't live without, just delete your talent entries in your character table. When you replace your talents you will get the correct spells back (only on a player that was used as a bot)
