    [Help] About Compiling Ascent (+rep!)

    Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum, but it's really nice and well done
    I would like to ask a quick question. I'm gonna open a WoW server, but I wanna compile it by myself this time. I followed the guide and everything and I got the 3_8_stable folder now with everything needed inside, like dep, extras, sql, win folder and all but where do I put this files?
    + Rep if I get a nice answer thx every1

    You have all the files, put them in a folder like "C:\Compile\Ascent"
    You open the Win folder and click one of the compile files (something like 80, I think) and config the compile and compile! (You need Visual C++ from Microsoft to compile)

    P.s. Welcome to MMOwned!
    p.s.s. Your really better off just downloading a pre-made repack

    I compiled them already, but now? I have another folder with logonserver.exe, ascent.exe and everything inside. Should they be in the same folder?

    What do you mean? You compiled the server, right?

    And yes, every Dll and Exe file should be in the same folder (everything should be in the required location and ready to run, apart from the Database!) Just copy and past the relese folder to your prefered location e.g. Desktop

    Nothing important, programs like Ecko Tools and something like that.
    I have now all files I posted before except src, win and extras (dunno how they finished there :P)
    Am I done now? Where I find the players.cpp now?
    PS: I would like to change player cap level, starting point zone and something like this

    Oh, thats what you mean! You have to edit player.cpp BEFORE you compile the server, atm you have the actual server ready to run.

    Finally I understand something more.
    Look at this picture, http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/5...magine2bx6.jpg
    Is this my not-yet compiled core?
    If so, I will compile ascentVC80 and scripts2005 (changing Debug to Relase, and Building Solution) after having edited players.cpp and stuff, right? Then, where I find the files to open up my server? Ascent.exe, logonserver.exe and stuff, I mean.

    Yes, thats the source folder! Goto src/game/ and the player.cpp. All you want to edit is in the src file -logonserver, game and ascent (I think). Then compile it by changing it to relese and build solution like u said.

    When compiling is finished, there should be a folder called relese in your folder where src, win and etc. are.

    O_O thats the problem! I havent got any relase folder! When I finish compiling, it says
    ========== Generazione: 2 completate, 5 non riuscite, 0 aggiornate, 0 ignorate ==========

    It means
    ========== Building: 2 completed, 5 non completed, 0 updated, 0 ignored ==========

    I thinks is this the problem...
