Risks of Running WOW Server?

Sorry if this has already been posted but I have looked everwhere I could on here before posting. I was just wondering what the risks were of running a private server for wow. Does this actually hack there server or my comp? Just wondering if this is a risk I'm not ready for.

All the stuff I have come across has been about hosting for friends and what not. I'm just intrested in running my own for now. I dont know if its a little out of my reach...

The link is a good source, but just for added measure, I would say that if you had any intention on taking Paypal donations, you could be opening a world of hurt for yourself. I know of someone who wanted to do that and all I could do was shake my head. The best advice you can follow is to not draw attention to yourself.
