    Custom Spells! (for a Custom Class!)

    Okay. I've read Xcynic's guide on how to make a custom class trainer. Now I want to make custom spells, to put in my custom class trainer. Or so I can make belts that turn you into cows (yay)! Overall, I want to create a function and put it into a SpellID. Now I know you can't make custom classes that appear on character creation page, but I do have a great idea on how to do it indirectly. My solution is the following:
    • Delete all current class trainers then add 2-X amount of trainers, and add a quest that:
    A) Lets you 'perceive' (I don't know if that would work since there is stealth perception) one of the two given trainers.
    or

    B) Gives you a teleportation spell to a room with the trainer- and portals in the room of course.


    After-thoughts: I started dragging on there, but it all DOES fit the topic. Once I get the knowledge of spells, I can make the portals, rooms, trainers, etc. So please help!

    This idea has been thought of DIRECTLY by me. You can use it, just don't take credit for it.

    ALSO: I'm looking for work as a GM on a server. I can make items and help fix errors. [My routers, firewalls, computers, networks- even webcams are against me on private servers, so I can't make my own, however I have fixed/helped on many. Don't ask.] So please consider me before taking the-next-guy.

    Idea sounds great - but you cannot make spells. =/ Its impossible without editing the DBC files of the ser4ver, and then making all your players download that, and then redownloading it every time there is a chance, which I guess is possible, but it would be a hassle.

    I heard that you have to make a new entry in spells112 and then script the actual spell in C++ and compile...But thats just what i heard :P Way to complicated even if its true

    I really think that's incorrect. I'm not sure, but if you can do it with custom mobs and custom quests then custom spells shouldn't be a problem either!

    What an epic bump.
    You can create custom spells by editing the DBC. It's a pain though, you'd better mod existing spells.

    u can create spell if u know good c++
    u can edit svn, player spells.cpp or something like that
    i didnt try yet but i will

    You can edit WHAT IT DOES, you can't edit the spell or add any new ones.
    Lots of people say you can do that with C++ but most of them cant do a "printf()"

    You can add new spells in the DBC.
    You can edit existing spells in C++.
