    I'll admit it lags when you have more players in one area, but if your kb/sec goes from 50 to 100 in an event.. shouldn't that techniqally be better and lower the lag?

    I need to get more players onto the server so i can test just how many people i can hold.. if i can truely hold 500 with no lag, i'd just make smaller events but more often events..

    Ram.
    Ram has almost all to do with it..
    DON'T try and play when there are more then 50 players online.. you WILL lag. (When you lag, They lag)
    Even with the beastly computer.

    @fastelf:

    That's true but it needs more then 100kB/Sec which I do not have ;P

    @Vivoxity:

    Not totaly true, I run on a dedicated server which has 4GB ram, that's enough for 500+ players... And with ~1000 players it uses only about 1.5GB ram...

    I can hold around 200 players easy... Never went over it yet but we had minimal lag at 200 players on my dedicated.

    Intel 2.4 dual core, 2 gigs of ram, 1000mbps connection

    You seem to have no idea what your talking about
    Basic computer specs to hold around 100 players
    Processor: 1.5ghz (AMD or INTEL)
    Ram: 512mb
    Hard Drive: 10gb(dosnt matter really)
    Internet peed: 500kbs up 400 bs down
    Thats a joke right?
    The ascent server client takes up 512mbs just running empty.
    No one believe this thread.
