Re: ! QUESTIONS ASKED HERE :: The Emulator Specialists Answers Here. !

Ok I'm new and all so I've been trying to get a private server for a while but my WoW version is 2.0.0. And i know that you need 1.11 or 1.10 to get the server to work. How do i get from 2.0.0 to 1.11?

Re: ! QUESTIONS ASKED HERE :: The Emulator Specialists Answers Here. !

okey, i have a problem with the amrican93 repack. after i completed all the steps by marlos guide on youtube (ty marlo) i ran into "protection error: error 196" while running the wowemu.exe.
io dealt with it by changing comptability of windows, but it either gives me the error or crashes when i try to login.

    suggestions?

look guys, im having serious troubles with this.
i allready got it all but the Emu wont work.
i launches and either crashes "protection error: error 196" or it works all good, i enter WOW and when im trying to connect its "unable to connect" than i go out of wow and the Emu isnt working.
i know i cant run WOW without the Emu on but it keeps on crashing.
im using amrican93's repack. tried both the new one 2.5 and the older 2.4.
on 2.4 i ran duelcore file too, wont help.

Ive tried to dl some other repaks but links are down.
i would really appreciate help, ive posted some questions allready and none answered, so i soloed my way (using guides ofcourse).
i dont know nothing about programming but i ask of u to help me.

    so, what can i do?

(fourth time i think i post theese questions)

Greeting, O emulation server experts. I'm running a ManGOS 1.12.1 server, and for RP purposes, I would like to know how I would go about removing the scale limit. Using .modify scale (number), I can alter scale fine and everything, but I cannot go past 3.0. Any suggestions on how to change this?

    Regards,
    Raziek

That is how it was written so you really can't change it unless you can find it in the code and change it yourself. But most can't do that so I doubt it.

Re: ! QUESTIONS ASKED HERE :: The Emulator Specialists Answers Here. !

I want to make a server, just for my own use on the same machine to mess around with GM power for a few.

Is there an easy step by step for this?
How do I connect to it once I create it?
Do I need a second install of WoW on my machine? Or will my retail up-to-date version work?

    Thanks mighty emu-gurus!

    yes
    easy
    maybe

    to answer your questions...j/k

there are many guides in this section to help you step by step setup a private server. You just have to chose the one you want.

You connect just like any server/client program connects, you need a server and client. If you have no clue what I am talking about, then maybe making your own server is not such a good idea.

It depends if you need a second install. There are a few version out that are running 2.0.8 but with Blizz doing the new patch yesterday to 2.0.10 you may need a second install anyway. I guess it just comes down to how much effort it will take.

Once you ask yourself those questions that I posed to you then we can help you further.

Re: ! QUESTIONS ASKED HERE :: The Emulator Specialists Answers Here. !

I've been browsing the guides, I have no idea what to go with tho, since this is my first run, I'd like to try whatever is the easiest lol.

I do understand client/server connections, I'm just new at this (and forgot to sleep last night) So I couldn't think that if I loaded WoW, it would just go to the normal WoW servers, not my private.

I was reading on one Emu guide that is was basicly a copy of the WoW folder to wherever, then downdrading one of the copies to the emulated version. Seems easy enough there.

Also, since I'll be using a seperate install/downgrade and not connecting to a blizz server, there is no chance of an account ban right? I just got nervous when I saw "HackPatch" hehe.

Sorry for being such a noob to this

EDIT: Would it be easier to connect to a public emu server that everyone gets GM powers on than creating one myself?

That is up to you. You still need to downgrade to the version of the server and change the realmlist to match the server IP.

There is no chance to get banned, hell I had both blizz live and my private running at the same time and nothing happened.

Yes it is as easy as copying the WoW folder and putting all of that data in a different folder. People just make it hard on themselves by skipping steps and not reading the entire guide before starting.

Re: ! QUESTIONS ASKED HERE :: The Emulator Specialists Answers Here. !

so to connect to an already running server I would make a seperate copy of wow, downgrade to the version the server is running, edit the realmlist to the IP of the host server, fire it up and login?

No real setup or software required?

    Seems very easy!

But what if I want to play on more than one server, I know if theyre running the same version I should just have to change the realmlist IP, but what if theyre running a different version?

just like live servers if the versions don't match then you can not play. sometimes the private servers will allow a range of versions. Like some will allow version 1.11.0/1.11.1/1.11.2 and so forth. but they will usually tell you.

I would reinstall Wowemu and go through the setup again. I hate to say that but sometimes that is the only way. Try that and it *should* fix things.

i did it few times, if only that would solve the problem.
im trying mangos for 1.12.x u think i will face some problems?

i tried allready many things... for allmost a month, i just want it to work.

but in case mangos wont work too, what still can i do with the repack thing since its the most simple option.
