So I recently started my own server and I got it to work, the only problem is that when I go to create a character it doesn't create.

Any idea on what's wrong and how I can fix it?

make sure you have run all updates on your database that are needed...
also check if you dont have any errors in your consoles...

Well in my ascent-world.exe I get some big error saying Sql query failed due to [column count does not match value count at row]

EDIT: Does it matter that I'm using a different database than the one that came with the repack?

yes cuz your database might be outdated now and in need of updates or too new for the core...
check what table that gives that error in the console and update the table and see if it works then...
what rev of arcemu/ascent u using?

    Not sure

Pretty new to this stuff, but I'm using apples ascent v4 repack and I went and downloaded scythers blizzlike repack but the logon.exe didn't work in there so I thought I could just edit the config files in apples ascent to use scythers DB.

EDIT: The error is in the characters table

Is not implemented into the configs.
Funny, someone asked about this in IRC. You would have to modify the core for this to work

You need to delete your cache after editing items.
