    Posibilities...

Okay, this is my vision for my Private Server:

We have a Launcher, which does the basic things like launching the Server, setting Realmlist, all that jazz. Now, I was wondering if it was possible to add this to it (with some mad C++ skillz):

The first time the Launcher is run, it checks the WoW Folder (data) for a patch (custom MPQ Patch), if that Patch is not there, it inserts it and then runs WoWME(fix), which will enable the patch, but have the Player unaware that they are doing it.

Because I want this: To MAKE Players have a Custom Patch, so that everybody will see the same thing.

If you still have no idea what I mean, post and I'll re-do this and make it more legible :P

    Posibilities...

It's a good idea but it could be slow, anti virus software might block it and you would need to remove the patch afterwards somehow, what if there pc crashes and then they decide they want to go on retail? :P
    Good luck!

I ain't no C++ Scripter, so I dunno the possible things you can do with it, but if it was possible you could:

you would need to remove the patch afterwards somehow
When the person Closes, Exits or Shuts off WoW, it launches a small box that says Loading... deletes the MPQ Files.

    what if there pc crashes
From the data? Get a new Comp :P

they decide they want to go on retail?
Like the first question; deletes the MPQ File when you close WoW (after using the Launcher)

    but it could be slow
Well, wouldn't be HUGE Files... How slow could it get?

    Good luck!
In my experience, there is no such thing as luck

Yes, this can be done pretty easy, "mad C++ skillz" isn't required. You can even do this with AutoIt.

And no, anti viruses wont care.

When the person Closes, Exits or Shuts off WoW, it launches a small box that says Loading... deletes the MPQ Files.
You can make the launcher run in background after wow has been started and let it periodically check if wow.exe is closed, then delete the patch file and exit the launcher.
