Just to give a bit more information ot this topic. For the connection you're saying T1, that's good. You'll want to make sure the provider you go with is goign to give you a good upload speed, which is your main concern. I'd recommend that you have 1MB-2MB upload speed min, more you have the better obviously. As Nightmare said, a good router will help also, I agree with linksys being one of the best. They have a particular model of router; the wrt54g L which lets you put opensource firmwares on the router enabling it to act as a high class server router with all those features. I'd recommend Openwrt for that.
Again to support what someone else said before me, stephtorrent this time, a wired connection will be alot better, its jsut more stable and reliable. When you get your new connection they should come install the line for you, you jsut hook your machine up to that.
Also the difference between a "server" connection adn a home internet connection is that server ones tend to have much greater upload speeds, which is important!

    Also Englands cool, London rep!

You'll have to do some research yourself there, I live in england, so I don't know too much about canadian providers. It's probably better doing a bit of research anyway, read some reviews on service and stability etc. Or if you're lucky someone here will know of one. Good luck

If i could imply my opinion, dont use linksys...too much to deal with not only firewalls but port forwarding problems have caused me nothing but trouble, therefore making me resort to a hamachi based server, i have yet to find a good way to use dyndns AND linksys with 2 computers sucking on the bandwith, luckily i have an account creation page to avoid making players wait for me to get on to make them an account...but thats far from the point, linksys for me = trouble

could possibly be different for yourself

DMZ is there if you dont like to forward the ports. Once you've done it once though i dont see why he would need to do it again if its going to be a dedicated single use server =/
