my bro lags alot when he plays wow, so I want to get a new internet line. Is a 9.95$ connection enough ( regular home High-Speed connection )? or will I need a t1?

    How much is a t1?

You would need a high upload rate for 500 people on at a time. To be safe lets say 5kbs per person should be plenty. For 500 players using 5kbs each you would need 2.5mbs upload rate.

Many cable providers are giving users more bandwidth then a standard t1 line.

If your prodiver only gives 30 or 40 kbs upload rates you may want to consider leasing a server or getting a t3 connection, or if your really rich an oc3 connection.

    $550 to $1200 per month
    • A T1 line is available almost anywere (unlike DSL)
    • A T1 connection is always up and running, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - guaranteed
    • T1 lines are a higher quality Internet service providing a firm foundation for other advanced applications such as mail or web servers, multi-user VPN, Citrix, or VOIP services
    • T1 connections can decrease expensive phone bills by placing up to 23 phone lines with dedicated long distance service on the T1 line in addition to Internet service!
    Thats Alot!

I say Stay with You connection, it should hold a few
