    The button you press is version specific to compile - in VS2003, you have to press CTRL+Shift+B to build - or you can just go to Build on the toolbar, then Build Solution.

    Just click 'Build Solution' - if it doesnt work, it's a different problem.

    THX m8 really apriciated, but I get errors when building it (with F7), and only logonserver files appear in the bin folder
    WIERD tried again and worked perfect so...THX again:P
    LOL and another edit:P ok when i copy the compile (with scrips) and put them in a folder on desktop...then change the .conf then when i start the ascent.exe or logonserver.exe it says "MSVCR80.dll can't be found" and it wont start...now what?
    i have copied maps and DBC from my old server files to here but i do get the message...

    You just need to download a new core from the SVN link
    but it's down for me.

    First get Tortoise
    SourceForge.net: Downloading ...

    then get Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 from here:
    Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions

    Then get .NET framework from here:
    Download details: .NET Framework 3.5

    make a folder called compiles (ore what ever you want)
    Right click on it and click SVN checkout
    in the url thing write:
    http://mmoforge.org/svn/ascent/trunk/
    click okay
    username is: anonymous
    pass: (blank) <--- so there is no pass
    when its done open Visual C++
    if you made the folder called compiles on desktop then open this file: (in visual c++)
    C:UsersUSERDesktopCompileswinascentVC90
    click on build at the top and click Configuration Manager.
    In the list select Release.
    Click ok and click F8
    when its done look in:
    C:UsersUSERDesktopCompilesbinRelease
    there should ascent be.

    Now for compiling scripts:
    Open C:UsersUSERDesktopCompilessrcscripts (in visual c++)
    Do the same as above.
    now when you are done it should be here:
    C:UsersViterDesktopCompilesbinReleasescript_bin

    Gz you learned how to compile ascent.

    (if you think its hard then just use my ascent compiles )

    first you need a tool called tortoise svn, which you can download from SourceForge.net: TortoiseSVN.
    download and install this tool.
    you also need visual studio expres 2008 which you can download from microsoft at Visual Studio 2008 Express Editions.
    download and install this tool.Open the program from start/all programs once it has opened, you can go ahead and close it.
    you also need microsoft .net framework through 3.5 available from microsoft.com/downloads

    create a new folder on your desktop and name it Ascent(you can use any suffix for the file name if need be for example "Ascent2007". once you have the folder created right click on it and click on svn checkout. type or copy this address into suppository http://projects.emupedia.com/svn/ascent/branches.
    press ok
    when username and password window comes up, type anonymous in user name and leave password blank. put a check in the little box that saves login. click ok
    wait for svn to complete it will say completed at revision xxxx at the bottom.
    If you want to use lua scripts with your new ascent compile you must open src/shared and open ascentconfig c++ with notepad (right click on ascentconfig c++ and click open with and choose notepad)
    near the top of the file you will see
    /** Enable/disable LUA scripting system.
    * Default: Disabled
    */
    #ifdef HAVE_LUASCRIPT
    # define ENABLE_LUA_SCRIPTING 1
    #endif
    //#define ENABLE_LUA_SCRIPTING 1
    simply remove the 2 // before #define ENABLE_LUA_SCRIPTING 1
    SAVE. (click on file and save)
    push the up folder button twice (or close the folder and reopen it)
    doubleclick on win
    doubleclick on ascent vc90
    this will open it in visual studio express 2008
    up neat the top you will see a small box with debug in it.It is recommended that you build debug first so for now leave it at debug, click on build, click on build solution. wait for it to finish it should say at the bottom something like build 6 succeeded 0 failed 0 errors
    as long as you have zero errors it should work fine.
    okay next change the debug to release by clicking the little triangle(arrow) thing immediately to the right of debug.choose release. click on build and click on build solution.
    next you have to build your scripts.
    double click src and doubleclcik scripts see the vc90? double click it. build it the same way you built ascent.
    when its all done your config files are in src, and your exe's and scripts are in bin/release.

    Why would you build your debug???
