Server Stealers

Ok, so you finally made a private server, and u've gotten ur first few, or maybe 100's pouring into the server to play, other then watching out for hackers, its best you watch out for server stealers. Basically these people go unto your server, play, but in the end, they are recruiting people from your server, saying that they will become GM, or get special items, ect. Although there really isnt a way to fight this, the best way to prevent this is by asking people who join ur server, if any1 has asked them to join anouther server, if they said "Jason" has asked me to join thier server, and promised me GM if i did, then i'd keep and eye on jason for unwanted activity. If in the end this person is recruiting people from your server, then it is best you warn the person, or better yet ban them. Most servers that start out ussually have these kind of people, but most of them arent really any good, but still always keep an eye out for this, and always ask people if any1 in game has asked them to join anouther server.

What to do if someone is recruting people from your server?
First of all, you want to ban them, and quickly, before your server has gone completly dead, also if your using hamachi, u can ban them from ur hamachi server forever by blocking them.

Someone just recruiting everyone from my server and its dead now.
Sadly, this happened to me recently, the best thing to do is find a place to advertise, and make sure you get rid of the person stealing from your server.

My server just died and i dont know who is recruiting them!
Kinda sucks for you then, ok, i run an antrix server, i found out because some1 who was very dedicated to the server told me that he was being asked, ect. ect. also anouther way to look out for this is check the chat log every now and then (I dont know about mangos or ascent, but if u open up the antrix command prompt, it shows u all the /say chat going around)

Someone keeps asking me to help them make a server, and wants to "Team" up servers.
Ok, its best you dont teach this person how to make a server, just tell them to go here, and look it up, and say NO u dont wanna team up, i did this, i helped some1 make a server, and they recruited everyone from my server, so basically, be nice, but if some1 wants to team up, and asks for help, say no (just like to drugs xD)

Please dont delete this thread, even if you've never seen this happen before doesnt mean this would be useless, cause belive me, when it happens, it will probly hit HARD.


The player that recruited from my server has the hammachi name Silent or something like that, i forgot his IP or i would ahve put it here. So watch out for him / her.

still trying to get an account creation site up >< im noob. but all thes e posts about, hacking servers. stealing them. virisus etc is making me re think going public...
