Im kinda new to the emulated server thing, can i not use any if i have the latest patch? 2.2.2(.3?) Brewfest?

Can anyone make any suggestions or point me to a straightforward guide with proper english?

ive checked out a number of guides and they just dont really help. Im not an idiot, i just need to hear it(read it) a different way that ill understand.

i dont think brewfest is out yet on servers but i havent loged on in a wile so
