    The Current Emulators

Simple question I been away from emu scene for far to long...

    My question is...

ArcEmu use to be better before due to amount of people it could hold?
Mangos before could not handle 100 people without crashing billion times or laggin
    to the max.
Trinity core is new to me no clue on it.

People are saying that Trinity is the way to go? its based on mangos? if so how can it hold many people has mangos improved there connection between player and core if so some one let me know whats the best ON LATENCY or ON AMOUNT OF PEOPLE IT CAN HOLD.

MY QUESTION IS WITCH EMU CAN HOLD THE MAXIMUM PEOPLE IF IT WERE TO BE STABLE REVISION? really think about this one...

Depends entirely on how you set it up.

Saying "Vanilla" or "Normal" setup doesn't make this any easier to answer. Your choice is based entirely on personal preference.

No matter how you set it up lol thats not going to change the internal core that handles packets send from player to core. I done some reading seems like TrinityEmu is able to hold a good amount of people without lagin? Also mangos has updated there core that handles the connections. (Correct me if I am wrong anyone).

    TrinityEmu able to hold 500+?
    MangosEmu able to hold ???
ArcEmu able to hold 500+ 100% before not sure now.

I guess I have an answer for my self but correct me if I am wrong.

Mangos is currently thought to be the most stable emulator and able to hold the most, whereas TrinityCore (which is based off Mangos) has far more game mechanics and content working since they would rather focus on that and is the reason they split. They are both still very similar in many ways.

I don't know how you can say one core is better than another, it's all about personal preference as Sleighyah said. Depending upon what you use it for, and how you use it, and what you actually want out of it will all affect core choice. There's not really any statistical way to compare the emulators either.

ArcEmu is just generally terrible at the moment, having to rewrite most of the old code created from Antrix/Ascent because off how poorly it was created.

Mangos or Trinity!, i really didnt want to move from an Antrix based emu but when i eventually did due to there not being any decent development on them, started using trinity and i haven't regretted that choice!!

Yeah pal ignore me, don't worry. I'm not experienced or anything in this field at all. I have no idea what I'm talking about at all and I didn't write some of the MaNGOS and Trinity guides. I haven't contributed to the core either.
    Not me.

    @ Stone

Poorly created?... does it really matter if its stable & awesome? Ascent was way better than any other core back in the days.
& Ascent/Antrix is dead, arcemu is a bad copy paste emu.

    @ St3w13
    Go for mangos or Trinity.
Imo, trinity has more working spells, talents, instances, game mechanics & all dat.

Yes, Ascent/Antrix was good in comparison to the other emulators in terms of in game, but the hacky fixes and poor level of code has led to huge issues now when ArcEmu needs to modify this code. This was not necessarily intentional, but due to the amount of developers they had and how many of them did not have the required knowledge. Look at what code is changed in the commit logs. Also I see nothing wrong with copy + pasting as long as you give credits where credits are due, to be honest. Why go to the effort of trying to find out how a game mechanic works or how a packet functions when you can look at another open-source project and find out in 5 seconds? It saves a lot of boring, time consuming work and helps improve the emulator.

Don't get me wrong, I still use ArcEmu over Mangos/Trinity. But that's due to personal preference, from a unbiased point of view Trinity or Mangos is by far the better option in the long run, currently.

I don't want a flame war between which emulator is better, there is no statistical way to prove it so it's down to personal preference at the end of the day. Please stay on topic, which was getting the OP back up to date with the current emulators.

    edit: Cleaned up thread.

I really wanna thank you guys for you answers.
Looks like I will join mangos & trinity once again since I do know C++ I will be opening a server with couple of friends to learn and succeed in coding.
Respect and I totally understand what you mean by personal preferences.
