't Was one of Burlexes ideas to mash AngelScript in to Ascent. He never really got to it, and learned to despise the language soon after (due to rather obvious reasons, really). Ascent fell, ArcEmu rose from the ashes. We all know the rest. The fact that the AS option was still in the configuration is probably a mix of nostalgia and laziness .

C++, those who know C++ cba to learn a new language to do the same shit as they already can
lua, those who know lua already know an easy scripting language and didnt wanna learn C++ in the first place or just cant learn it and cba to learn angelscript either
