[Info] ArcEmu removed LuaReloadEngine() function Arc Rv.3089+

From now on you can only reload Lua Scripts from the World console as it was removed due to causing crashes if the script was already running.

You need to type in the console (world.exe) "Reloadscripts" to reload the scripts ingame.

Basically this renders the #Reload command useless on ArcEmu servers which have a rev higher than 3089.

What I will never understand is how a perfect engine (which I'm still using from about ~rev 3021 of arc) became riddled with bugs, crashes and corruptions.

Nah, you also have Paroxysm and basically anyone from the ArcEmu team can access the ArcScripting SVN, can't they?

The lua engine crashed with it. You can re-add the command if your not lazy.

all they need now, is to get completely rid of this hideous piece of crap called Lua... Its slow as ****, not in any way meant to be on a high performance server...

Lol ***** wtf are you talking about? I dont see corruptions i only see improvements, they changed/improved function, it is better to reload from console...lol Gastricpenguin that argument is so false.

I don't see how, it's impractical. The reload Lua command allows one to be able to fix bugs/develop on a live server without having to constantly restart, having to then get somebody (normally the only admin) who is probably in a different time zone to you, to reload from the console on the dedicated server just to fix 1 small bug, is just silly. What would of been more practical would have been a way to reload it from in game and the console. Also talking to Hypersniper he also thinks that small things like this are not an improvement and are sometimes just a work around to something that went wrong.

Anyway how is that memory corruption or bug? Lol. You should test your own work on your server non live etc...why don't you add command on your own?

Memory corruption + bugs with some of the newer revs, there is no way to really prove it that will be quick so I'm not going to bother trying to argue the case. Also you can test your work on a none-live server as much as you want, you won't always see something staring you in the face/a small exploit in the middle of no where. Also I have added the command to my own core, I just don't see why you had to make it impractical.

Computer programming (often shortened to programming or coding) is the process of writing, testing, debugging/troubleshooting, and maintaining the source code of computer programs. This source code is written in a programming language. The code may be a modification of an existing source or something completely new.

Im just wondering here, ever heard of "bad habbits"? One of these would be to develop on a live server while actually having it running...

Dont people test their stuff thoroughly before putting it on??
