    Nothing has changed

    Alright..

I haven't been on these forums for like 6 months now, thought i'd come back to see if anything has changed...

and no, nothing has changed... there's still releases like display object.... which is pointless as they ain't hard to find.

funserver repacks - same old, level up.. get new gear.. events for some gear... would bore me in the same day

emulators - seems to be more now then there was when i left, kinda dumb.. you could achieve so much more if they joined with others..

same old questions which have been answered a million times before..

WoW emulation has not changed a bit, i wonder why half the people who are developing the emulators are still around, its just going in a repetitive cycle..

    Do something new..

maybe they like making them? so that other people can play them. And if its so easy then it probably does not take them long, so the Can go do something "new"

If someone posts his concerns and opinions, how stupid you must be to answer with "do something better?"

If i think that USA sucks balls, must i be able to perform better?
If i go whine to blizz's forums about DK's being OP, must i be able to code it better?

Im not sure why i see this "do yourself" behavior whenever someone posts opinions / critizises something, that's like the noobs way of evading everything.

And now to answer to op's points a bit, so this post isint totally offtopic.

"and no, nothing has changed... there's still releases like display object.... which is pointless as they ain't hard to find."

New people come to the wow emulation everyday, and as it's not very well structured, you see people releasing same stuff over and over again.

"funserver repacks - same old, level up.. get new gear.. events for some gear... would bore me in the same day"

I think pretty much everything imaginable by people is done already in the custom content, so they only change marginably..

"emulators - seems to be more now then there was when i left, kinda dumb.. you could achieve so much more if they joined with others.."

Arcemu, Hearthstone, Mangos, Trinity, Wcell. All 5 have existed 6 months ago.

And i assume that you mean _REAL_ emulator's, not some pathetic jokes.

"same old questions which have been answered a million times before.."

People have hard time using search.

"WoW emulation has not changed a bit, i wonder why half the people who are developing the emulators are still around, its just going in a repetitive cycle.."

    Depends on the perspective.
Blizz makes a new patch, developers adapt to it, make changes. And continue to improve code over time.

Offcourse it is repetive if you look it this way : blizz makes patch -> devs make emulator support it -> blizz makes new patch -> devs make emulator support it.

But the coding itself is not repetive, you are doing new stuff everytime.

    Well for a start,

ALL emulator developers could in fact, gives a set amount of people the job to go back to when WoW begun and make all the spells/quests, etc which relies on the core, too work properly. As their goal is to be as blizz-like as possible, yet they over-look the small things that wouldn't be hard to fix at all.

Whoever said why don't i make it myself,

The answer is simple, why would i bother? Sure.. its fun to do something different.. have to think up what to do, what area-type setting would suit it.. but after a while it gets boring.. so most people go join a project, then the original concept slowly grows apart.. then gets released for everyone to use on their own server, of which you still get inexperienced people floating around saying "how do i install this", "a player on my server has an issue, how do i fix" "how do i change what spells are used on the item", etc etc..

How i would change emulation is too bring all emulators together, for example the ones that are coded under C++, combine them, then get each team to work on separate area's, covering more things that needs to be fixed.

Secondly, do the same with the database teams..

Then thirdly, make it more customizable to people who make "funservers", for example, have an area to make XP rates automatically change on certain days to pre-set rates, which may or may not send a message to the server.

Restarter, last time i checked this function did not work properly, so you would need another program to do this, then make it you can set a time period of when it should restart.

Chances are i could suggest more if i went looking through the code .. but i really can't be bothered.

I more-so just expressing my opinions, although some people may not agree with them.. everyone has a different set of opinions for everything

It's not the fact that ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS HAVE BEEN SUGGESTED BEFORE, it's that we don't control the emulators, this is just a community. If you want to complain about the emulators, do so on their websites, not ours.
