No problem runiker. Please anyone feel free to suggest new features. It's better to suggest now rather than when we release.

this appears to be very nice and I can not wait until it is released.
good work and good luck.
Well folks, it seems my doubts were true and we may not release this.
There are several internal issues currently going on that I am trying to fix. I'll give you guys full knowledge of what's going on so that you may be able to help us.
WoW Server. We don't have one. We need a WoW server so that we can develop content to give you, and we also need one for an official server. We had one being hosted by an old friend, but he hasn't signed in for a few days, and his server has exceeded the maximum logins. This leads me to believe he's done a runner.
Wamer. He has spoken with me about developing a php script for downloading content. Since I initially spoke to him on msn a few days ago, he too has been ignoring me. Has he also done a runner?
Factionwars. Our coder seems to be on his period today. Our web designer has asked for the source to the Control Panel so he can modify the UI to your likings, he didn't want the code or any such thing, ONLY the controls to replace images and such. Factionwars began swearing to me over msn and told me it was my job. Several days ago I said I didn't want to mess around with vb too much but would still like updated sources here and there as a backup. He then swore some more and said he'd do it. He's then attempting to cut and paste two of my own UI designs together with MS Paint and VB.NET. I then asked for a screenshot. After receiving the screenshot, I said why it was fail - I don't want him to think it's good. He then swears several more times, and goes to bed at 20:30 crying his eyes out. I think I may have lost our coder & source with this. Oops.
School. As we all know, most people on sites such as MMOwned decide to create a large project with every intention to finish it; then get hit with the reality that there is a pile of coursework to be done. School + InSpire = oops. I can probably get around this issue, but it isn't helping the situation.
Lack of coders. InSpire will require a few LUA coders, and possibly some C++ ones. Although I need coders, alone they won't be able to do much. I may also need a new C# or VB.NET coder since Merijn has been offended by me.
No web host. Merijn was also the one that had our web server. Double oops.
So as you can see, basically I'm getting no help with this. You can probably tell I don't do much myself. True enough. I code VB.NET to an okay level, photoshop somewhat okay, make wow areas pretty well. But my forte is ideas.
If anyone has an idea to keep this thing on track, PLEASE post it.

You don't need a official server, unless the whole point of the program was to advertise for it, which would be fail. A decent server can cost about $35/month. If you're any good at coding, try to find some freelance programming jobs (scriptlance.com, getafreelancer.com), generally you can find some easy jobs there.
Why PHP? Code it for P2P file sharing and cut server costs to almost nothing, since all you'd need a server for is tracking who has what. Then you just have to get some people to start using it.
If he's so pathetic he won't share his source code with his supposed team I wouldn't be working with him anyway. Try to find a new coder, it's a good idea if you get it working properly.
Get the program working first, and then people who are able to code might be willing to actually release stuff.
Just my two cents.
Eradicator spouted wisdom, listen to it
True enough...
Since I can't hard-code the files to be downloaded, I need a script that is easy to use to tell the app what files need downloading. Example; in a new update for the server, sql files, dbc files, map files, lua files and the new core files would all need to be downloaded. I can't hard-code the download locations within vb, I need to use a script of some sort to direct the user to where the correct files are.Why PHP? Code it for P2P file sharing and cut server costs to almost nothing, since all you'd need a server for is tracking who has what. Then you just have to get some people to start using it.

I said P2P. Ever use a torrent? Yeah, that.

DON'T release cores, only code patches for it. Plain text (patch) will download fast as hell, cores will be slow to download. Use revision numbers to find out which users are outdated.
EDIT: And also realize you'll use a centralized server to tell clients the IPs of other clients & what's available, therefore you can still ban people and ban files from the network.

In confused as to why your putting the blame on other people. You are the administrator. If something goes wrong, it should all come back to you. You said your only coder was factionwars, but you can code vb.net and your not helping with the actual coding? Or are you just delegating jobs to other people and hoping they get done. You may not know exactly how to code what you are going to, which gives you a great and interesting opportunity to learn; and as you can see, there are plenty of people here to help.
Not a flame. More of a reality check.
Actually, wrong. I simply suggested the idea.
I can indeed code vb.net, but I have other tasks within the project too. If I were to code, then this might as well be a one man project, I don't want that. I probably could code something like this on my own. However, the efficiency of it etc would be compromised, and you'd have to wait longer for it to release. If something goes wrong, it should all come back to you. Oh and for anyone that cares, we've got things a little better now, but still not enough to say we can definitely release this.
I doubt anyone cares for this anyway. Prove me wrong.

You can only get better at coding. Who cares if we have to wait? You shouldn't, you'd be providing cool software for the community, and if some leechers want to cry that it takes you a week or two to update then they can just stop using it.
What, three pages of replies, some of which are people high in the community isn't enough for you? This is vaporware atm, you'll get a lot more attention if/when you release a working version.
Sure sure whatever, I'll do some coding. ¬,..,¬
The majority of it is about how the UI stinks though... My point about anyone caring about this is... When/If I release this, how many people are actually going to use it? I don't want to spend hours of work on something for 10 people to download. I'm sure you understand my point. What, three pages of replies, some of which are people high in the community isn't enough for you? There are obviously plenty of people who would like to see it. And if you don't think you will get the downloads, go to the emulation programs forum and look at all the bad releases that have gotten thousands of downloads; imagine if your tool was really good.
If you need any help designing the UI, I'm good with things like that (Just ask Vindicated ;P )
Looks pretty interesting...Good job^^
