Exploring Deleted/Alpha Zones?

I used to be really into private servers but I've been playing retail for the past year or so. However I have a question - is there any way to access removed zones on a private server? I'm talking about stuff like Giljim's Isle, unused battlegrounds (eg. Azshara Crater, Kalidar), etc.

I've been playing WoW for a long time now, yet the prospect of exploring removed zones still excites me. It would be awesome if such exploration would be possible on a private server, because let's face it - using the WoW Map Viewer just isn't as fun.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Certain older areas are no longer in the clients, you would need to use a WoW Alpha client and a WoW Alpha sandbox / server to see them.
Others, like Azshara Crater, are still fully functional and existant in the newer clients of WOTLK.
