Well I have followed Mike Crowe's Guide and all works right, the "thing" is that actual rev of mangos is 5998 and I would like to know if Its possible to "update" mangos without losing wowtlk compatibility.

You have to apply the WoTLK Alpha patch to your mangos core after it has been updated through svn. Then recompile the binaries like normal. As far as I know, that should work for you, Just remember to use the new .exe and .dll files from the patched compile. i also suggest testing it first as a seperate mangos install instead of trying on your normal server. Because you are working with an Alpha build that has been "hack patched", there is the chance that there can be an indeterminate amount of potential errors and crashes. If you are not an experienced server admin with the mangos engine, I would just strongly suggest using what you have already got until something more stable with extra features becomes available. Mike's repack in my opinion is the best (the mangos one) of the ones that I have found here, and I have tried them all. Mike's sandbox one of the emupedia core is ok, and sectorseven's ascent repack was like trying to row through mud on my high end pc, which is unacceptable to me. Try them all and use whatever one works best with your system. Good luck.
