    NtFlushInstructionCache Windows 8

Seems like the 9200 kernel still didn't get rid of it. Still get detours ignored.
Can anyone confirm this? It's again happening on device reset for me which is DAMN annoying.
I can write int 3 to the reset and nothing happens, but when I place a hwbp it hits, which is soo weird.

WriteProcessMemory still doesn't fix it. Can write total garbage to it but breakpoint always hits as expected and I'm 100% sure I got the right function.

i just figured i'd update this post because i was unable to figure out your issue. and maybe someone else can be of further assistance. either that or there is something you are overlooking.

    some things we tried:

    -clflush on all logical cpu's

-tlb flush on all logical cpu's (NtFlushInstructionCache, dosent matter anyway cause tlb will be flush at the next context switch which is going to be less then every second)

obviously something else is amiss here ;p

Would you mind giving some more details on what you are doing, or a simple test case project? I've tried all I can think of but I can't reproduce this problem.

Try to look at d3dshark, the device reset hook will never get executed:

    Detours.cpp - d3dshark - Open source DirectX interface - Google Project Hosting

Works for me, tested in wow and eve online. win8 x64 6.2.9200.16384
I had to use r8 because variadic template support was dropped for VS2012 RTM but I couldn't see any changes in the hooking code between that revision and current.

What happens if you install W8 into a VM on your desktop, then try it in there?
