Character moving

So, I learned a lot the past month about how to read WoW-memory and created my first tool (http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...respotter.html (RareSpotter))

Ready for the next step; a simple bot. What I would like to learn is; how can I get my character to move. I wonder if anyone could point me to interesting links/articles on how to move a character around? Or maybe an interesting source. Also the question: Is moving a character done by memory writing or by sending keystrokes to the WoW-Window?

Not looking to be spoon-fed, I just need a small push in the right direction.

Click to move functions will move your character to an XYZ. Most bots use this.

Now how would someone move through air with CTM? Is that possible?

Yes ,its possible for bot,for human no as far as i know cause u cant determine the Z by clicking in the sky with ur mouse,but bot can cause he is writing it to memory ,unlike human which would be recognized as clicking on the surface

It can be done by memory writing, but calling the actual CTM functions is much cleaner - it doesn't require enabling click to move inside of WoW, and gives you more functionality (cancel CTM, etc.). This doesn't necessarily need to be done from an injected module, but if you're writing a bot you're definitely better off learning to do this now. You will 100% need function calls later down the track for a fully functional bot.

If you're interested, read a book on reversing, or more importantly, a book on assembly (seeing as the work is basically done for you by TOM_RUS and Blizzard's epic failure debug build leaks). It's not required, but it will certainly speed up the process.

Also, if you're new to programming, you're going to want to keep the best possible coding standards. If you start out messy in a big project like a bot, you will hate yourself forever. I also suggest a book, classes or a tutor for this.
