Detecting Horde/Alliance ownership of POI in Bgs (like AB)

All-

I've been trying to find a way (passively) to determine if, lets say, horde or alliance has something captured in AB, or EotS. My first through was to open the map, then traverse the list of items until I find on relating. I did find WorldMapFramePOI1 and WorldMapFramePOI1Texture (all the way up to 5), but I'm not sure how to make sense of any of the data once I explore the structs.

Anyone have any other ideas on how I could determine this?
