Memory reading

Hey guys,

I wanted to start a bot for World of Warcraft. So I learnt a programming language (autoit) and now i need some one to point me in the right direction to learn memory reading so i can of course have the hp and mana/energy/rage of the character but also the position, so i can have him move smoothly. I know that I'm just a noob on the forums here but i am trying to get a little more active here and I'm always trying to learn something new every day.

I have done some searching on Google and on here and had trouble finding something that explains it very well. For example I do know that i need to use cheat engine (I've learnt to set it up so that wow won't detect it) and i know the basics of it aswell.

I also know that people on these forums don't like to spoon feed so I'm not even going to ask for someone to teach me or write me a whole guide...just if you know of a source in which it explains... maybe the ways you learned. I would appreciate a link.

I would say CE is a nice way to start. The disect tools are especially nice imo. Isn't there even a built-in tutorial?! Well but since everything can be found in here to read or do almost everything a beginner can ask for, there's no way around understanding how to make use of the rich knowledge base found in here. Something that can really help you get started are the tuts from lena: Tuts 4 You: Downloads / Lenas Reversing for Newbies if you patiently work through these or even half you should be able to understand alot more. But remember: don't expect instant enlightment. You have to put some effort in it...if you quickly lose interest, than you know you don't really want learn. Good luck, work hard

OT: Learn a programming language, not a scripting language, learn basic reversing, read the entire Memory Editing Section - then start thinking about writing a bot.

Auto-it is a scripting langauge not a programming langauge...

Imo go C# and first learn atleast the basics and then come back here, my 1.3c (after tax).
