[GUIDE] Making a Good Glider Profile, and Making a Profile Group

Making a Quality Glider Profile, and How to Group it With Other Profiles to Make a Profile Group

This is my first guide. I have enjoyed some of the things I have gotten from this website in the past week, so I feel that it is necessary to contribute. I have been gliding for a year and one month now, and I have learned some great tips along the way to making a great profile. I am currently making a good amount of money per month gliding characters as a side job. I will also show you how to group profiles to make a vendoring/repairing profile without the use of Glider Elite.
So first off, here are a few tips about making a profile. These are primarily aimed toward newer gliders who are not experienced with gliding. Most experienced gliders will know most/all of these.
    • Grind on lower leveled mobs. ALWAYS grind on mobs 1-2+ levels below you. The reason for this is that you will spend less downtime drinking and eating and more time gaining XP.
    • NEVER bot on a quest mob. This WILL lead your account into a ban when a few other players come along to see that you are grinding on quest mobs, and realize you are a bot.
    • Pick less populated areas. You want to try to pick areas without as many players for a few reasons. The most obvious is you do not want player reports to GM's. Another is that you do not want others killing your mobs. The last is that you do not want to be ganked repeatedly by the opposite faction.
    • Pick mobs and areas more suitable for your class. What you kill should depend on your class. For example, if you are a rogue (a melee class), then you do not want to be gliding on mobs in areas where you are going to get stuck, or your character will get stuck on objects while making its way to the mob. Also make sure that if you are a melee class that the monsters you grind on are spaced well, or you will get a lot of adds. If you are a mage (a caster class), avoid any silencers or spell locking mobs, as well as monsters with a fast attack speed. The reason to avoid a fast attack speed if you are a caster is that your casts will be delayed repeatedly.
    • NEVER pick an area with patrolling elite or rare. There are a few reasons for this. The most obvious is that it will most likely be more difficult than the rest of the mobs you grind on. The second is that it may be hunted by other players, and they may notice you botting.
    • Pick areas with close graveyards. A far graveyard slows down your speed if you die by a large amount. Running halfway across the zone to get back to your body is unnecessary.
    • Pick areas with close towns. This is only necessary if you are going to be making a profile group, which I have shown how to in the second part of this guide, below. Now.. Keep in mind that you still want to be somewhat hidden where you are grinding and you do not want to be so close that there is a large amount of traffic in your botting spot.
    • When making profile waypoints, select the “Auto-Add waypoints” option. This makes the same amount of space in between waypoints, making your waypoints less choppy, making your bot look more human-like.
    • Always set enemy faction numbers especially if you are a warlock or hunter. The reason for this is that glider will try to attack your pet if there are no faction numbers set. This is still very necessary to set incase a hunter or warlock comes through your area, because glider will try to attack it's pet. If the pet happens to be on the same faction (Horde/Alliance) as you, glider will turn toward the pet until it is out of range... If not, it will begin combat on the pet.

Now for the guide on how to group multiple profiles to make a group profile. The purpose of a group profile is to make the group change profiles under certain conditions. For example, you could make it change profiles after 200 kills, after 60 minutes, after 2 deaths, or after gaining 1 level. I will be explaining how to create a profile that will vendor and repair after a certain amount of time, but this could also be used to make a string of GoTo profiles, etc. Begin making your glide profile, your Vendor to Glide profile, and then your Glide to Vendor profile and then you are ready to group them. You will need the following addons for this to work.
You will also need a restarter. Here is one I compressed, but did not create.
    1. First off, open your glider folder and open the application pgedit.exe.
    2. Click File->New. Now you can begin to insert profiles into your group.
    3. Click Step->Insert (Insert Key). Once this window has appeared, click browse and find the first profile you would like to include in your group. Your first profile should be the repair vendor to glide profile. Once you have found the file that will be your first profile in the group, click okay in the browse window, and then click okay in the edit step window for now.
    4. Repeat step 3 for the glide profile, and then the glide to vendor profile.
    5. Now that all three of your profiles have been inserted, double click the first one, bringing up the Edit Step window. Check the “Always” box and in the drop down box, select the glide profile. This makes your Vendor to Glide profile switch to your glide profile as soon as it is in range. MAKE SURE THAT THE STARTABLE BOX IS CHECKED, then you are done with this step. Press okay.
    6. Now double click the Glide profile, or step two. Here is where you define under what circumstances your Glide profile will be changed to your Glide to Vendor profile. I typically check the Minutes and Deaths box. I set my minutes to 90 and deaths to 3. Whichever condition is reached first will make the profile switch to the profile in the drop down box, which should be selected as Step three, the Glide to Vendor Profile. MAKE SURE THAT THE STARTABLE BOX IS CHECKED, then you are done with this Step. Press okay.
    7. Now double click the last step, your Glide to Vendor profile. Check the Always box, and select the first step (Vendor to Glide) in the drop down box. Here is where you define what vendor your bot will speak to before going back to the glide spot. Check the box “Fly Before Next Profile” and put the vendor's name in the Flightmaster's Name box. In The Destination Town box, put anything. Your bot will freak out when it realizes this is not a flightmaster, but you will have already repaired and vendored if the addons are setup correctly. When glider freaks out, the glide will stop. This is why the restarter is required. If setup correctly, your restarter will make your glider open the Vendor to Glide profile and take you back to the Glide spot. This will repeat until you wish otherwise. MAKE SURE THE STARTABLE BOX IS UNCHECKED THIS TIME, then you are done with this Step. Press okay.
If you followed these steps correctly, you have created a profile group which will now repair and vendor for you.
I typed this guide myself. You are welcome to post this guide elsewhere as long as I am given credit.
I hope this is useful and not too confusing for those who intend to use this guide. Feel free to ask questions in this thread and I will try my best to answer them. Unfortunately, I rarely have time to answer the questions.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the Glider Groups... I've only worked with Glider for a couple of a days now, so any help would be appreciated. When making the "Vendor to Glide" profile... it sometimes walks from the vendor, to the gilde, but then tries to return to the vendor directly. I'm not sure if I'm not making my waypoints correctly, or if it's just a setting issue on the profile itself. I've tried disabling "Natural Running" to prevent running into walls, I've enabled Breadcrums, I've enabled "Stop after one run" and have played with other options... Not sure what I'm doing wrong..
