Just wondered. It seems a bit strange because the suspension is today but yet the online account info says it will be released on Saturday unless they change their direction which seems like more than 72 hours.

My suspicion is that this is NOT a banwave, but just the usual player reports, etc...

Before the release of Cata, we were seeing this happening every fornight. My guess is they've been so flatout since Cata's release that they neglected to look into the recent player reports until now. Given most of the bans are 72hours and not Perma (and I suspect some of those perma bans are down to being previously flagged), my gut feeling is that that's all there is to it.

Normally a banwave would be a perma ban of 100% of the users, not 20 or so out of many thousands and mostly only temp bans at that.

Blizzard gathers these reports up and does this at the same time to set the cat amongst the pigeons

If it was a ban wave I would have been banned just aswell as everyone els.

I've used HB like 10 hours last 6 months. No ban for me. By the way, are you from EU or US?

When was the new patch released on US ? Maybe it got detectable as of 4.0.6.
