Well, I was banned yesterday after using SGather and Jenses' Multihack for a couple weeks. I in no way blame the programs, as it was my own damn fault, and I'd just like to say thanks to the community/program authors. I'll toss some info on what I was doing to try and help people out a little in their own exploits.

What I was doing
I was speedhacking and farming whiptail on a public route like a fool. Don't do this. Make your own profiles, and don't bot in public areas. Those rivers in Uldum were crawling with people(and other bots), and I just assumed that no one else got banned, why would I. Also, speedhacking sure makes your farming more efficient, but it also increases reports. If someone sees you and you sort of look like a bot, they may or may not report you, but go flying of at 20X speed, and you're sure to get reported.

What Blizzard Did
I was babysitting my bot as I farmed happily away when I got dc'd. I tried to log back on, only to see a message that the account had been closed. I checked my email, and sure enough, there was an email from Blizzard saying I had been banned. Interestingly, it was for "Abuse of the Economy", which I never took part in. I have heard that they ban you for that when they have no real proof of you botting, but know you did something. I appealed the ban, it was reviewed, and they upheld it, this time citing bots/exploits. Now, I don't know if they only found that because I appealed it or they just didn't say that in the first email, but it's something to think about. I'm not entirely sure whether or not the ban is temporary or permanent(any way to tell without just waiting 72 hours?) as nothing was said in either email or when I attempt to log in.

Sorry that happened to you, hopefully you can find a new game, or make a new account and try to recover your losses. Thanks for supporting the bot authors tho

I'm not entirely sure whether or not the ban is temporary or permanent(any way to tell without just waiting 72 hours?) as nothing was said in either email or when I attempt to log in.

Seems from previous bans, when it says CLOSED you have a perm ban, when it says BANNED you are under 24-72 hour ban, or banned while they review to determine if they will close your account with perm ban.

i feel sorry for you, however as you allready admitted its kindof waving into a gm's face by speedhacking + public routing.

anyway i would like to know if you only got a 72h ban?
maybe you could drop a message on monday?

Speedhacking is definitely not the brightest idea, but I got it into my head that it would make my bot 10000x better. Anyway, I haven't decided whether or not I should start a new account. 3 85s and almost 100k gold took a lot of time and a lot of work to get, and honestly I'm not sure if I could be assed to do it again.

I've been speedhacking for months. In raids, while leveling, in dungeons, but only around RL friends. Hell, I got stuck in BWD one time and had to put in a ticket. If the program is not detected, you will not get banned unless you're reported. It's all about being smart. I'd recommend doing RAF with someone, getting your toon leveled. Then buying a second account to use Jenses/ Sgather on. That's what I do, and I make some extra cash here and there, more than enough to pay for both accounts, by selling gold to people I know.

If I do decide to get another account(I'm fairly certain it was a perma ban), are there any free leveling bots out there? Or do I need to spring for Honorbuddy or another bot like that?

speedhacking and farming THEN you auctioned goods that you farmed. its trackable and that cause ban mostly, overflow AH.

I didn't auction goods that I farmed, that's just silly :P I turned them into Darkmoon Cards/flasks, and I hadn't sold those yet either.

Abuse of the Economy are what almost all botting bans are for. I got my main account banned about a month ago for underground botting, and they said it was for Abuse of the Economy. I emailed them saying I didn't do anything that would fall under Abuse of the Economy, and they changed it to Use of Third party software.

I just got word back from Blizz, it is a permanent ban. QQ. Anyway, it's been fun, I'll have to think about whether I want to blow some cash on a new account.

Afterwards, its kinda funny but it made me feel kinda gloomy. Damn Blizzard!
