The banwave appears to be partial. I made a bot that used it, and my friend got banned, but not me. Not sure why, but apparantly it can't detect if you have in the past, just from now on. Sort of as expected.
@cypher...can you take a look at Warden and tell us what it can see and what it can't? Knowing how sure they are about the usage would help with making a excuse, I believe.
Marlboroman -Let me know if that works
While, I'm not quoting you out of anger, I am curious... did the Warden dev really get out his lazy ass to shut this down, or what?Unlike previous similar tools, this tool makes zero modifications or 'hooks' to WoW that can be detected by Warden in its current form. Unless I've overlooked something (which I'm certain I haven't), in order for this to be detected the Warden dev would have to add a brand new feature to Warden to detect the special type of hook I'm utilizing, or find a bug in some of my module hiding code.
Lets be honest, the Warden guy is ridiculously lazy, so this should be safe for quite some time.
However, I obviously can't guarantee anything, so as always, you use this at your own risk.
Also, anyone wanna help with how to go about getting an unban from this?
Banned. Do you think this is absolutely permanent? I'm going to write a very sorry letter. The sad thing is it'll take days for them to respond.
Wow. I tried this once, for a total of 10 minutes, 3 weeks ago. I haven't used it since then, and my main account just got banned. I don't blame Cypher, but wow this sucks.
Perm banned due to this, 5 min ago.
BOOM! middle of a raid, not sure how I'm going to explain it to the guild for when I get a new account.
another banned account, only 1 of 2 accounts on a bnet account, the other i hadnt used luaninja on (that i can recall) is there anychance they are able to read macros stored clientside now? last time i used luaninja was maybe 5 or 6 days ago on the account that got banned
So if Warden hasn't changed... how did the banwave occur? Or was it always being detected and Blizzard just stockpiled the names and then threw down the bans all at once (like with Gatherbuddy)?
Also, what programs are still safe? MrFishIt wouldn't have caused this would it?
Just finished writing a letter apologizing for using this program and asking for a second chance.
It's pretty sad how badly I want this to work. Man I'm addicted..
Different e-mail.
Code:Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks") This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack." These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game. Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment. We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. Beelzebub, I think that is because he is EU, but I also got the letter you received saying:
