Can anyone tell me how to use the latest WoWME with Wine? It starts fine, and even says "Press F8 at the login screen, before you login", but when WoW loads it doesn't recognize when i press the F8 key.

The threads with the linux scripts for wowme all contain dead links, so that isn't much help

I am having the same issue. Have been attempting to get this to work without any custom edits, just stock WoW via WoWMe.exe. Could someone please let me know whether the WoWMe console window is supposed to output any text after I press F8? Last thing it shows is archive data opened for my locale.

It's not WoWMe, it is one of the models you are using. WoWMe closes before you even login.

Hrm, so I used the earlier WoWME that was scanned for by warden prior to the update, and shortly after that my account was deactivated and I received an email saying I was being 'Investigated'. Which was fine, I was sort of tired of the game anyway. It's been about 2 weeks though and I've never run across this before, so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and whether or not they could tell me how long it lasted. Thanks.

I have a question I saw asked earlier, it seems that WoWME runs even if I don't press F8 before logging in, perhaps because of a battle.net merge, or perhaps not. What's the explanation for this? I was under the impression that you had to press F8 or the game would crash or otherwise not work?

i've always wondered, is it possible to create a WoWME to suite all updates? like an all-mighty World of Warcraft Model Edit so we wont have to worry about downloading the newest one for each individual patch. any ideas or locations? :wave:

The host is not available all the time, simply try again a few times for a minute or so. If that doesn't work, maybe try again in an hour.

I've noticed the same thing. i think the battle.net system does not check your game version.

It all starts as usual:
With the WoWme Data I start WoW without any complications - untill then everything's just fine.
But then, as soon as I want to login, there's this great ERROR: My WoW version couldn't be compared.
(with ... the other version??)
Could it be a problem with Vista? Does anybody else have the same Problem?

The most interesting is that it sometimes does work, and sometimes it doesn't.

I've tried everything, Scan.dll datas and so on and YES, i pressed F8 before the login.

I hope someone can help me somehow, I'd be thankful for any kind of help.

You need to read what it says mate. Put it in your WoW folder and run it, then press F8. Come on.
