I'm very exited about their movie, though i'm still curious regarding the topic. There are so many good and epic stories in the lore. Personally i hope they decide to make it about the trilogy "war of the ancients"

Actually, I think they'll stick to the whole Arthas --> Lich King part, since it's the most popular piece of lore which wasn't recently ****ed up by either Cataclysm or MoP.

Well, this one's tricky. It's nice to see the movie making it's way to our screens relatively soon, but is it a wise move? They lost a lot of subscribers, and I just don't see how a movie will get those back, or possibly interest new ones.

Just don't see it there. But yeah, fans will go wild over this and it might actually be profitable, depending where they are going with it. I'd like to see the movie, of course, but don't support Blizzards move here, especially if this is the reason their new game got delayed. After all, they are (self-proclaimed) a gaming company, not Miramax.

Sweeet, although I can't help but feel if Blizzard did this earlier then maybe WoW wouldn't be dieing as much as it is. I remember when it was still in "speculation" I thought they had Sam Raimi who was going to direct it? Or am I mistaken?

Sam Raimi was going to do it, but he got fired for slacking and delaying the project over and over again.

So you think they only make this now because they have been losing players? I think it's because it was something that was hyped up and while they didn't deliver, people might have complained a lot. Or just because they really want to make a real warcraft movie :P.

Is blizzard the one sponsoring the movie or have they sold their rights to use a specific story for a movie?
