This is simple,
If the price stays in the $2 to $3 range naturally 3rd party sites will keep it below but only slightly below the value to make money and keep it temping.
but the price of items in the terms of millions will fall due to gold being more valuable than it is at the moment, since you can buy 1m gold for under $1 on third party sites.
but only time will tell, and in a year or so the economy will stabilize and the real effects will be known.
I don't see how the gold RMAH going life would change item pricing like that. First of all third party sites were available before this. Secondly I highly doubt you can buy 1m from a trusted site for less than 1$ especially if you buy a normal player quantity (10-100m). Another thing to keep in mind is that gold sellers can't buy ingame because it's very expensive, and also can't really sell that much ingame since they pay a total of at least 27.75% taxes on their sale, which winds up at about 1.8$/mil. Add the risk that you get caught, identified as illegal gold seller and get your account suspended and there you go. I actually think trading forums like this one will gain more of it, since people are now officially aware that gold is available for real money, some will do some google research and wind up here where the prices will be surely better.
I just don't understand why anyone would bother at all with the RMAH....like Pencheff said above how farmers pay tax on their sales, well so will any average person selling anything on the RMAH...sounds to me like it'd be more hassle then what it's worth just to make a few bucks off a video game.
