I can understand that they don't want people modifying and hacking their game however enabling themselves to scan your whole computer not only seems unnecessary but also a breach of our privacy

That's my opinion on the matter too. Scanning processes is one thing, but to see what I'm viewing? Not cool. And it's not a matter of, "if you have nothing to hide, etc." It's just basic freedoms imo. I know we don't have to play the game if we don't like it, but you know they sneak things in that Term of Use :P Thanks for reading EveronMightbane!

They've done it before yes, and I'm pretty sure they still do. Maybe not lurking on your web pages, but they still are touchy feely with their methods

The article is a little misleading, they aren't scanning outside the process other then to see what's in your computer memory as far as processes and what it's doing towards injected dll's. With code changes, they could do other scans... but they're not. That's the key point.I am all for the scan. I cheat with bugs, not with programs and bots.

If you don't mind me asking zycamzip, how would you know if they're not scanning outside the processes if this isn't public knowledge?

Afaik blizzards warden is just as privacy intrusive as this, and can even access your RAM. I don't think anyone who plays wow should be surprised by Trion doing this.

Actually Blizzard was caught doing this back in 2005 but met so much criticism that they stopped doing it.. BBC NEWS | Technology | Warcraft game maker in spying row

This is very misleading; the entire thread reads like this repeatedly:RIFT CAN BE SKYNET(But they aren't right now)TRION IS POISONING YOUR KIDS!(But they aren't right now)Just present the facts, we don't need to know about what-ifs. ANY program could do this.

TRION are actually scanning your entire system right now, so what do you mean?
