Now that Rocket API is toast, what actually works?
Has anyone done any testing to see which hacks actually work? So far we pretty much know that anything using rocket API is toast, will get you banned eventually.
What about the hacks that don't use rocket API? like gps spoofing on a rooted phone? I'm talking about local GPS spoofing where you stay close to your house not some crazy stuff where you GPS spoof over thousands of miles.
If local GPS spoofing works then we might be able to build a simple bot that just manually plays the game. The mechanics of pokemon go aren't exactly sophisticated so a macro that just mimics touch input might work for a basic bot. I don't know how it could be detected unless they have some way of detecting what apps you are running on your phone which would seem like a huge invasion of privacy if they could.
Might be worth testing it out though.

Have been using nox, setting location to match my bike path map before opening pokemongo and running a modified version of the farmer python script... It needs more tweaking because it pretty much sucks at throwing the ball but eventually gets it (doesn't miss just doesnt throw), script walls the path I made on the bike path website (my actual neighborhood) spins all pokestops, etc... No ban only using this in my neighborhood while walking... Have had 2 others banned for traveling the world but no issue at all with this one.

I have been thinking about this as well, and so far my account which has been mobile spoofed isn't banned yet and I know many people with the same story so there is definitely potential there.
Though I think in case someone would make such bot he would keep it private, because why the **** would you not
