Dont be greedy, again.
Yo, just read Niantics take on why they changed their API + locked all the Bots out and it sounds pretty reasonable.
They didnt do it because it was cheating (ofc it still was), they did it because of this:
Why do some of you guys need to run 30+ instances of necro?
Whats the point of having more than 1 account, you cant even sell them for a good price.
Maybe, if we get the opportunity again, we should be a bit more sparing with the server resources.

I'm pretty sure I read it like twice but do you mind linking why they changed it again?
Also, some people run multiple instances hoping one will escape a ban
Some do it to sell
Some do it simply because they have the means
Some do it because they are waiting for trade implementation and want one central account to take all the pokemon (I believe this and the first reason are the most popular)
Of course regarding the trading, bans will come before that

Interesting - looks like they know what they are doing then - I doubt we will get another chance like we had, just hope we don't get banned or I will owe a lot of money to people :-/

That graph says nothing without knowing the values of the Y-axis. That small change could just be the tip of a very large iceberg.

ofc it could be, but they still stating it as the main reason.
i dont see why they need to lie about it, they could simply say "well yeah it is cheating, thats why we blocked it".

OR pokemon go's biggest userbase currently is botters:P

Let's say on average a level 30 account goes for 20 bucks.
It takes ~3 days to get an account to level 30. At this rate you would make 2,433 dollars in a year if you botted 24/7 - 365.
Now, lets say you bot 50 accounts at once and once again, you are able to sell each for 20 bucks a pop.
Now if you do the same again, both 24/7 - 365, you are making 121,666.
That's why.
The sales section literally has 100 people selling account for this amount or less with each of them having dozens of accounts at any given point in time.
Let's just hope there is not a mass ban wave, otherwise a ton of sellers will get a TON of complaints.
I have 1 hand played account and 2 botted accounts which I play by hand as well. I am done botting for now as I would rather not have my accounts banned, but who knows what will actually happen.

Lol that escalated quickly
Would be curious to see a similar graph with number of playing people on the Y-axis

To be serious, i dont think they actually sell accounts for 20-30$ here, never, not on this board where tons of free bots float around.

I'm sure plenty of the accounts do sell. If you actually look at the threads, a lot of the accounts show sold within 24-48 hours.
I have used bots, but the 2nd account was bought because I wanted certain 100% IV pokemon with tons of dust and this account had just that.

Pokémon GO
Misrepresented stats
Other changes in the same update included a DOUBLED refresh rate and a smaller scan area. That would explain atleast a 50% drop in server load but of course they blame it on maps and bots

I'm just curious about you guys that are selling accounts. What happens when Niantic starts tracking and banning those accounts (i.e. basic IP check/etc)? Are you going to refund your buyers? lol
