Gym glitch?

Hello. I can catch pokemons, spin pokestops (on phone), but when I try to initiate gym battle, it stuck on "gym screen", but no pokemon appears. Is that some form of ban? or its just some glitch? I have slow internet, but again, I can catch pokemons and spin pokestops with no error.
Also, I can add my pokemon to same team´s gym without problem.
What gives? thanks
