Ok that is fair enough. Including guaranteed running for a whole year when people getting 1 year package and somehow API not crackable?

I have no information on this. It would have to do with pokefarmer, or pogo.

I'm on the fence about it. it has nothing to do with server costs. Handing hashing remotely isn't done because it HAS To be done remotely, it's done to keep api private. It's about making money. if it wasn't for them though their would be NO API at all. But again alot of the work that was orginally done is still being used that was provided to the open source community. and they're charging for it so I dunno.

The reversing community has driven itself into a hole.
Reversing is done in an invite-only channel on the PogoDev Discord, because they are afraid that Niantic would look into their reversing talks.
Nobody knows what is going on in that channel because they are trying to keep it a secret, and everybody is just waiting for them to produce a result.
Now the reversing team has shrunk down to basically just the Pokefarmer team, because they are required to find a solution for the API for Pokefarmer anyhow.
Although they talk a lot about new people should join to help, in reality nobody really new can join the reversing channel.
You can't just follow up with their weeks of likely undocumented tools and talks, even more hidden Skype chats, and you would have to know what they are doing in the first place to know if you could help out.
And if there were someone new that can actually help and reverse the API now, what would they do? Just drop all the Bossland hash service infrastructure and subscriptions?
They would keep the hashing a secret still, only to be shared with the invite-only channel, and the reversers get a free key.

No, paying for servers to handle the hashing is not required, everybody can hash for themselves and has been doing so for 0.45.
No, 4 EUR a month by itself for just yourself only is not a lot, but it adds to other costs like captcha solvers and it binds you to a 3rd party, Bossland.
The cost increases fast if you want to make a service like tracking maps, and thus it stifles free projects and competition.
Furthermore, there can no longer be truly free tools and bots. After all you might just buy Pokefarmer if you have to pay the same money to use any different bot.
The Pokefarmer team already makes money for reversing the API through Pokefarmer, and has been doing so with the community research.
The hashing service does not free you from having to implement other API changes, hashing is just a part.
The hashing service will break with updates just the same as if it were public.
Not to mention that it's an unnecessary network overhead, and you are sending your device info including locations to a 3rd party.
It is sad that the hashing service is just accepted and implemented into every API.

nobody interesting for RE Pogo anymore , how the niantic updates is cost alots time for RE. if niantic change the encryption again the hash server will broke again for longer time, if niantic just update like uk25 , magic number, iv .. PF team has tools to crack in blink of eyes
