Niatnic isn't actually fixing the loopholes in the game that allow for cheating. All they're doing is banning the "obvious" cheaters. Well what about the non-obvious cheaters? They go free and clear. We can all still GPS spoof or run bots in the game. Also it is pretty much impossible for Niantic to fix GPS spoofing based on how android's operating system is open source by design. Everything in android's operating system can be spoofed and sent to Niantic. Impossible to fix this. So what do we need to do? Simply improve our techniques. We all need to report on what got us banned. If we did something that got us banned then bingo, take note of it and modify your techniques. Eventually we will be able to compile a list of "best habits" to make sure we aren't doing any obvious cheating.
The days of obvious cheating (sniping, GPS spoofing across massive distances, running a bot for 8+ hours non-stop) are pretty much over. Anyone who does that will get banned eventually.
Also for all you people who lost accounts. Stop cry babying it. Not like you guys actually put in tons of hours grinding these accounts anyways lol. I got two level 30 accounts banned and I wouldn't take it back what I did to get them banned. Why? Because I got to do all the crazy fun stuff in the game like battle in gyms, use high cp pokemon etc. If I was a normal player, I would have been spending all my time catching boring ass pokemons like pidgeys an ratatas. Who the hell even enjoys that? I don't. Without cheating, this game is boring.
