Nox app player freezes PC

The app player had been working the entire day up until when i got on to play a bit , it now completely freezes my pc when i try and open it . Tried re-installing to no avail , as well as turning Anti-virus off still no change .
Any ideas ?

sidenote virtualisation is enabled in the BIOS

I had the same problem start today right after I installed Visual Studio 2015. I uninstalled VS just in case, but it's still happening.

edit: tried uninstall and reinstall. didn't help.
