HAHHA The scammer deleted all four of his threads when he saw me calling him out as a scammer in every one of them.

Only moderators can delete threads. They probably saw you blowing up General Trade Talk and knowing the scam is coming from multiple sources, just removed the threads instead of banning the sources individually. I'm going to assume you fell for one of these scams since your name pops up on GTT about 5 times per page reporting the same incident. It's a popular scam, but it's also well-known to be a scam. The moderators know that as well as anyone else capable of doing a Google search, so the best due diligence you can have is to call out the post in the thread directly. Flaming the moderators and OC in general isn't going to make the scams go away. They operate well enough within their realm of control. In the end, protecting yourself is your own responsibility.

Yep, I sure did, as did several others here. We were all able to get our money back. My point remains. If he is such a well known scammer and I am able to catch him in the act so easily, then mods should be able to catch him just as easily. You want to know one of the MAIN reasons I trusted the guy to begin with? The post that I responded to had been on OC for TWO WEEKS and no one had said a word against him. I figured that if he had been around that long and the mods hadn't banned him and no one had said anything negative about it, it probably not a scam. And no, it's not coming from multiple sources. It's the same guy using the same exact, word for word post every single time. I reject your whole "blame the victim" mentality. I simply do not understand why OC does not follow it's own stated policy of requiring people to be ID verified before being able to buy/sell here. That would drastically reduce the amount of scammers here.

Let's time travel real quick...
"It's the same guy using the same exact, word for word post every single time."
My post from 7-06-2016: Looking for online job ? have paypal account ? 100-200USD daily!
Your post from 7-25-2016: Looking to work online ? Have verified paypal account ? salary 50-200 usd daily
Same scam, slightly different wording.
"Sure wish someone had mentioned this on that thread". I distinctly remember seeing your post back in July and laughing to myself, because I actively call these scams out as soon as the threads show up on my feed. Somehow you managed to find the one thread I missed and fell for it. Sorry, but if I were a moderator I would be spitting out my drink right about now.
It's not a "blame the victim" mentality. It's a "blame yourself" mentality for falling for the oldest scam in the book.
Hope you find peace.

ID verification wouldn't make a difference either. Plenty of IDs in circulation through account sales or otherwise. OC probably realizes the futility of this measure.
Just do due your due diligence to the community (if you care), and call out common scams when you see them. Breathe more. Spam General Trade Talk less. You're going to give yourself an ulcer.

Nope. it's a blatant blame the victim mentality you are displaying. And I can't even begin to believe that you are discouraging me from reporting scammers.
And yes, ID verification WOULD matter, since the ID you use to verify needs to match the Paypal name. In any case, I am done with you.

Don't be obtuse and misinterpret what I'm saying because it doesn't directly fall in line with your agenda.
I'm not discouraging you at all. I said you should absolutely do your due diligence to the community and call out these threads when you see them, but talking down to the moderators in GTT isn't going to accomplish anything. You said yourself they use the exact same wording every time, so all it takes is a second of browsing to find them.
As far as ID verification goes, that won't stop scams altogether; only the kind that you fell for, where they use a stolen/hacked PayPal. Even then, you should always ask them to personally send you an email from the one attached to their PayPal, as well as an ID. You have all the liberty in the world to request this information for yourself even if OC doesn't do it for you.

Yes he is a scammer. DONT DO ANYTHING WITH HIM.

@JaredKorry we moderators are doing our best to keep the site clean of scammers, spammers etc. But like cobracarry said "In the end, protecting yourself is your own responsibility" by a simple check on the information the scammer provides in google you can find most of the times that he already is banned here on the site.
