Rep cap on posts sucks.
True story.
We could see if we could change that so it doesn't affect The bots and programs / Memory Editing section. Gaining 200 rep from an exploit and gaining 200 rep from a full blown fishbot that you made yourself is quite different.
What's a Parog?
Looking for competitive Valorant team!
Not gonna happen, it's all a conspiracy, and there's been a big government coverup.
ITS A WITCHHUNT I SAY! A WITCHUNT!
P.S. Apoc fails for implementing such a cap to begin with. I think he's just upset because his doctor told him he has Chlamydia and now he's trying to take it out on me because he's jealous of my STD-free status.
Since this seems to be some kind of discussion thread, would it be possible to get some BBCode to disable the automatic image resize Apoc? Or is there already?
Would be good for e.g. logos like the ones used in b&p or such threads like the one Qhan made in shared lounge

Zomfg. And no, don't ask. - Dombo did it.
Well why should finding an exploit have less max rep gain? If users like it they will rep for it. Many ppl use it, a lot of rep. Whether it's hard to find or not, the more useful it is, the more rep someone should earn for it. Ok some guys went crazy with their rep from 1 post, but what does that matter? Obviously a great deal of people thought it was helpful so they have all the right to reward rep if they want.
Because most exploits are found by accident, or with very little time put into it. The handful of exploits I've found over the lifetime of my WoW 'experience' have all fallen under this category.
Whereas bots and hacks often have hours upon hours of work put into them. Some of the more popular bots/hacks would have accumulated hundreds of hours of work on the part of the maintainer.
Also, bot and hack writing requires a much higher level of prerequisite knowledge.
Whilst I can see where you're coming from, it's not just about how 'useful' it is. Without some sort of scaling or capping system it would be unfair due to the time invested vs rep gained ratio not being the same across the different boards.
Fixt.
Unfortunately, there is no fair way of scaling different sections and such on reputation. Being a simple, if-you-like-you-rep system, it's really hard.I remember when the one person reached elite in something like 24 hours from posting an extraordinary simple, and only slightly creative, model edit. But, that's how shit happens - people liked that, and other people that do world crafting for weeks and get maybe 2 rep from it, that's just how it works. Same with the emulator section, there are people who get rep for nothing, others who work hard and receive nothing. It happens in all sections, and theres no real way to keep it 'fair'.
I never proposed a system I claimed to be fair, I simply pointed out that the current situation is unfair.
Also, whilst a full-blown scaling system probably isn't appropriate, I think modifying the rep cap based on the section would be. It's obviously not going to make it "fair", but it makes it "fairer".
